Welcome to your new turn-based addiction!

Eador. Masters of the Broken World, a fantastic turn-based strategy game of epic proportions, with RPG elements, is available on GOG.com, for only $19.99.

The shards of Eador, the world shattered by the legendary cataclysm, are never at peace. The demigod masters, the immortal rulers of this strange realm, wage eternal wars against each other. This is a land that lost its hope for being reunited, broken beyond fixing. Is there even a slightest chance to mend the wounds that have been there for what it seems like forever? Is there a power strong enough to conquer all the opposition and end the chaos forever? Could that power be you?

Eador. Masters of the Broken World is the next big thing in turn-based strategy games. It takes all the complexity you would expect from a 4X game (that is: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate), adds some extra challenge, extends the gameworld beyond measure, and finishes off the mixture with some top-notch dreamy graphics. If you're looking for one game, that you can easily keep playing and replaying for years to come, you have found it.

Take a few days off, kiss your loved ones goodbye, set an automatic feeder for your cat and take a plunge into the multi-layered universe of Eador. Masters of the Broken World, for only $19.99 on GOG.com!

Tsugirai: Genesis might be better, I don't know about that, but if oldies count, I doubt it could topple HOMM3.
avatar
Fenixp: It might. It might not. How is that important or relevant in any way, shape or form? Everybody played HOMM3.
About as relevant as talking about Blizzard and SC2, lol.
avatar
Maighstir: I'm not sure the error lies with GOG, the developers themselves aren't completely sure whether it should be full stop or colon.

F.A.Q.

Which game genre it is?

Eador: Masters of the Broken World is a turn-based strategy in a fantasy setting.[...]

Umm. Intriguing enough. Thanks for the heads-up, Maighstir. ;)

I think its relevant, and I think it can! The first month of playing I thought this might be as good as homm3, the second month I though this is definitely as good, and as I still didnt get tired of it after 5 months, I thought this is MUCH better than homm3. Heroes I could never enjoy more than 2 or 3 weeks, then I had done and tried everything and seen everything. Eador keeps surprising me.
Heroes has better music, though, so I listen to homm3/4 music while playing Eador, best of both!

Hello guys.

First of all, we want to sincerely apologize for the difficulties many of you encountered upon the game release. We're very sorry to let you down and we're doing our best to fix the most critical problems of the game as soon as possible.

Eador. MotBW is the first big project for our small team and clearly we were not completely ready for the international release. Seeing how many problems are caused by the difference in PC configurations, we realize that we should have tried to go with the 'Early Access' option first. Unfortunately, we couldn't foresee the current outcome back in January when the game was greenlit to be on Steam.

In the next few days we'll fix the the siege and story progression bugs, add 'hotseat' mode and an option for private matches in the multiplayer. A more detailed list of the upcoming fixes will be posted on this board on Monday.

We'll also be adding a 60 page guide with a detailed units, heroes and skills description in addition to the current manual next week.

The studio is keeping track of your reported technical issues so constructive feedback is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Snowbird Games.

I was talking about nonstop playing, or have you played nothing else but homm3 for years? I think not. So LOL U!

I have played homm3 on and off since it got released 15 years ago and I still love it. But now I am glad that finally something better has been created.

That's good to hear. The game IS great, just a bit rough around the edges at the moment. Once the issues are ironed out, it'll be a must have for every fan of the genre.
You've forgotten to post the link, by the way. :)

Seriously, what are you, 13? By the way, I fire it up at least once per month, averagely, I play a few hours per week. If by "nonstop", you meant playing it 24/7, then NO, I do not play it nonstop. Else, yes. I do.

I never really got into the other installments, though, however fun V and VI was. I just played through the campaigns and that's it.

Very disappointing release, and it shows that GOG.com didn't even bother doing some basic quality assurance before letting through this buggy game from Snowbird. I mean, graphic bugs are hardware-dependent, but how can you miss something so huge as the whole quest journal being unlocked from the start????

Graphics are pretty and shards/battle maps less generic, but many things feel like step backwards: bad UI, no more battle music, stupidly slow animations (oh god the one for the commander hero), and so on and so forth.

This was definitely my last preorder on GOG.

Edit: asked for a refund. There's no way I'm letting Snowbird/GOG get away with such sloppy behavior. I intend to buy the game again when and if the bugs and other grating issues get fixed.

Yes thats what I meant, nonstop. Thats why after much deliberation I decided that Eador is better.

And yes, I am 13 and have played Homm3 for 15 years, LOL U AGAIN! Much like you I also did not played 5 and 6, mostly 2 and then 3. 4 has nice graphics and good music so it got a fair bit of time, too, if only the AI wasnt so horrible in that one.

Just a theoritical question, if someone plays 24/7, when do they eat, drink and/or sleep?

You can be fed intravenously and use a catheter. Then it just requires finding a game you can face roll.
avatar
RadonGOG: BTW: You´ve got a spelling mistake in the headline:
It´s not Eador. Masters of the Broken World, it´s Eador: Masters of the Broken World ;)
Thanks Radeon : Spoter of the Broken Colon, you saved the day, even if I'm 2 days late.

... and you always have a clone ready for a hot swap and a mind dump when your current one goes defunct, OBVIOUSLY

Edit : Ok I had my silly and non constructive fun ..... soooo I don't think refunds are possible on- this? And I don't think anyone can see anything evil in it ? I didn't preorder nor bought this one, just stating my beliefs.
