An enchanting, dangerous journey.

Dust: An Elysian Tail, a beautifully animated side-scrolling platformer with dynamic fights and RPG elements, is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's only $7.49 for the first week!

As the mysterious warrior, Dust, your action-packed journey will take you from peaceful glades to snowy mountaintops and beyond. At your disposal is the mythical sword, capable of turning its wielder into an unstoppable force of nature, and the blade's diminutive guardian, always ready to give you advice--wanted or not. Battle dozens of enemies at once with an easy-to-learn, difficult-to-master combat system, take on a variety of quests from friendly villagers, discover ancient secrets and powerful upgrades hidden throughout the massive, open world, and uncover the story of an ancient civilization on the brink of extinction as you fight to uncover your own past.

Run, jump, hack, and slash in Dust: An Elysian Tail, a dynamic action-platformer with RPG elements, beautiful landscapes, tons of original enemies, full XInput controller support, great animation, and a cast of sympathetic characters. As Dust, the furry protagonist of the story, you will wield the talking sword known as the Blade of Ahrah and take on many strange creatures of darkness that have been menacing your world. With the help of magic-wielding Fidget, the sprite guardian of the sword, and an occasional piece of advice from the snarky blade itself, you will follow your destiny and make your way through a vast, fantastic, colorful world that won't soon forget, even after Dust's story is over.

With traditional animation techniques and full 1080p resolution, this might be one of the most enchanting games ever to grace your screen. Let the adventure begin, get Dust: An Elysian Tail, for only $7.49 on GOG.com. The 50% off release discount offer lasts until Thursday, November 14, at 10:59AM GMT.

SCPM: I really hope something like this is also the case for other Microsoft published titles like State of Decay.

jamyskis: Yeah, I was tempted to go to the dark side and get State of Decay when it goes on offer (especially as I don't have a 360), but now that I've seen this.

Just tweeted Undead Labs in the hope of a response. If I don't get one, then you know that Microsoft has it locked down.
Good luck! I think I wrote/tweeted to Dean Dodrill 4 or 5 times about bringing the game to GOG before I got a response. It's been almost 6 months since the Steam release of Dust, but the game was pretty much content-complete on release, no DLCs or anything. And it did seem he was genuinely interested in bringing the game to GOG, so developer attitude is another matter. I'll prod them as well, if nothing else than to let them know there are people who want a GOG release.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth that I too think this is a great game, very fun action brawler with different combos, a rpg style upgrade system and lots of items and maps to explore. Definitely worth trying if you like this style of game. Just wish I hadn't gotten it on steam now that I see it here :-)
Nice release, I almost bought this on sale from Steam a couple weeks ago since I wasn't expecting to see it here. Glad I didn't, I'll grab it here instead. (Probably not today though, may have to wait for another sale)

gandalf.nho: Looks very nice, someone already played? It's much difficult?

JudasIscariot: I played it and I found the difficulty just right and I do believe you can change the difficulty to your liking :)
Thanks for the answer. I don't like hard games and sadly the majority of the actual platformers devs insists in turning them nintendo hard...
The art style for this game looks really beautiful. Love all the colors in each screenshot.
OH MY GOD, NO WAY!

I did NOT see this ever coming! Also, I WILL live up to my promise on the wishlist to give away a stack of copies, but I might not be able to do them all at once.

They've responded, albeit very cryptically.

I'm not exactly sure what they mean by "don't have the bandwidth". The game isn't multiplayer, and all downloads and patches are handled by GOG or Desura respectively. Sounds like a bit of a poor excuse to me.
*sigh* This is the worst month for me (well, it's a continuation of last month...). Wife's out of work, car went kaput and GOG.com is releasing awesome stuff I want. Well, $7.50 won't break me...
Looking forward to having a GOG copy, and to future efforts of the developer. Good times. :)
Sweet! Almost bought this on Steam, but my wishes came true and it's on here! This looks like a fun and creative action game.

Some really good indie releases this week. Now I need to figure out which ones to pick up.
Fantastic (and unexpected) addition to the catalog! I picked this up during a Steam sale, but I haven't finished it, and I'll certainly be picking up a copy here when I can.
I came very close to buying this on Steam during their Summer sale as I thought MS publishing that version meant it wouldn't come here, glad I waited. :)

Maybe state these points and ask for clarification?
Too bad, bought it on Steam weeks ago (mostly by using card money :P).

Hey all, Dean Dodrill here (the developer of Dust:AET).

I'm thrilled to finally have the game available on GOG :) I'm a huge fan of the service, and a GOG release has always been the number one request from PC users since it was available on the platform. I hope you enjoy the game!
