For those about to ROCK, we salute you!

Brütal Legend, an epic heavy metal tale of one exceptional roadie's way to rocking godhood in the timeless realm of thundering power chords, is available 33% off on GOG.com for Windows and Mac OS X. That's only $9.99 for the first week.

Eddie Riggs wasn't a roadie. He was the roadie. The best there ever was. That thing they say about him, that the elder gods of rock themselves called upon him to embody the spirit of heavy metal, that's probably true. So, how he ended up building stages and carrying guitars for the worst band of nu-emo-rap-metal posers, remains a mystery. They also say, however, that once horned angels leave a mark on a man's soul, he is destined for great things. Terrible, but great. That's why Eddie didn't stay confused long, when by ancient magic he was dragged straight into the middle of the hellish metal realm. With heart full of thunder, head full of raging riffs, and hands full of double-bladed battle axe, he rushed to meet the epic adventure, and probably violently knock out some of its teeth. This is his story: the tale of how the elder realm of rock was changed forever to remain the same.

Brütal Legend is a mixture of an action-RPG of the hack and slash pedigree, spiked with a serving of real-time strategy unit command. Most importantly, though, it's a tribute to all things heavy metal. It visits many iconic motifs of the true rock aesthetics and sports over a hundred heavy metal hymns from rocking giants as Judas Priest, Motörhead, Black Sabbath, Manowar, and Slayer, among others, in its exceptional in-game soundtrack. The main character is voiced by the Hollywood's hardest rocker Jack Black, and the inhabitants of the elder realm speak with the voices of legends such as Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, and--as the demonic über-villain--Tim Curry. Hell, this game even has Wil Wheaton! That explosive mixture of amazing artists, epic music, brilliant story, and bloody action-packed gameplay was conceived and developed by Tim Schafer and his insanely creative and creatively insane Double Fine team. If you're passionate about any of the mentioned elements, you will instantly fall in love with this awe-inspiring game!

Set off on the highway to hell and pick your heavy metal destiny while the blazing thunders of rock blaze through your skull in Brütal Legend, for only $9.99 on GOG.com. The 33% off offer lasts until Tuesday, July 29, at 9:59AM GMT.

Important notice:
This DRM-free version of the game does not support multi-player features due to circumstances beyond our control.

Reever: Haha, GOG might be starting to like you less, too :D

I find your Steam tirade funny, but I find it even funnier that most of your posts are downrepped. Seriously, people, butthurt much? xD

HGiles: Honestly, I think it's because every single thread s/he posts in s/he says something offensive. It's like a constant low-grade troll. Wasn't always this bad, but I think people's patience is starting to wear out by now.
How difficult is to ignore such people? I for one can do it just fine :) But ah well, I guess that's why the - button is there :D

Until they try to start forum drama over how their completely innocent self is being oppressed by the constant downrepping. Pinning the blame for low rep on a conspiracy of down-reppers rather than owning up to being constantly rude is just not cool.

Given the nature of this forum, "rudeness" shouldn't really be a problem, in my opinion. And it's okay to downrep posts in my eyes, but at least have the decency to say why (in lesser obvious situations, of course!). And don't go around downrepping every post of the perpetrator :D (this wasn't pointed at you, btw, just in general).

But let's not discuss this futher, there are about a gazillion threads about this now.

Ravenvolf: The Lords of Midnight game is and iOS/Android exclusive. There is no PC version sadly, good fun on my phone though.

Crosmando: There is a PC version out, check their website, it's just not on GOG yet.
Ooh exciting, last I heard, they weren't even considering a PC version. Hopefully it will come to gog sometime.
This game was an absolute blast to play. I'm glad to see it here, even if I already 100%'d it in Steam because I hope other people will pick it up and play through.

I *want* people to play this game and have at least as much fun as I did playing it.

I won't say it doesn't have some issues, and I would have been happier if DF had worked through them more, but even so, this is totally worth playing.

It was also a nightmare to YouTube (yes, using this as a verb), because of copyright issues with all the music.
Bugger the MP.
Why doesn't the GOG version come with the soundtrack (this is starting to become a common theme) considering its more expensive than when it the game was flogged on Humble ?

Same deal with Arcanum, you can pull the audio files straight out of the install directory but yet GOG didn't bother to put them in a zip file separately as ost.

Smannesman: As usual, too little too late GOG.
Same here, I preordered from Steam and got a DRM free version from the Humbe Bundle. No need to buy the game a third time...

I dont like the actual situation. Steam starts selling old games to and offers sometimes multilanguage versions of games, which are only available in english here. And new games here are mostly Indie games, which are sold in Pay what you want Bundles before or are "crippled" versions without Mod Support or Multiplayer because the Developer used Steamworks for that...

xep624: Mee too. Too bad I really like heavy metal (like Fear Factory, Machine Head and Testament), but I am not a fan of action games... However I will pick it up just for sense of humor which is in abundance in this game. So thank you heaps GOG Team!!
The humour is one of two pillars of this game, in my opinion. Second is its good soundtrack, obviously :).
Got it in the Humble Double Fine Bundle a while back. I might pick it up here if it goes on a massive discount during the Christmas sale.

Just keep in mind, every sale of Brutal Legend is a fractional increase to the odds that Broken Age might actually be finished (and maybe within our lifetimes). And who doesn't want to see what a $10,000,000 game looks like? ;)
Hi,

I was waiting for you.
I don´t have a money right now, but you know how Guns N' Roses say it:

You would be mine :)

SangHee: I don't really mind the presence of this game here but I still wonder if anybody asked for this. The request page is full of games that would deserve to be here more than this - Kyrandia being my personal favorite.
This reminds me of those "GOG does not cater to my specific needs. This must stop!" threads that pop up every now and then, although those tend to be more aggressive for some reason. They tend to appear during new releases and sales, which makes the threads all the more obnoxious. Whether a game deserves to be sold on GOG more than another is a highly subjective matter, so it's a pretty point to begin with.

Anyway, I've seen folks ask whether the game was coming on GOG, occasionally starting a new thread for doing so, so there we go.

"This DRM-free version of the game does not support multi-player features due to circumstances beyond our control."

Kinda figured it would be like this, but I was hoping it wouldn't. Nothing new really, gog has a lot of games that have multiplayer DRM. Though, they tend to give you a key to play it. Does this come with a Steam key?

I can't believe people are actually defending this. Double Fine isn't your best friend, they are a company and they are releasing a product in order to try to get you to pay them money. Why would you defend them giving you a shitty version of the game?
Fucking pathetic.

Wont be buying it from GOG, though even if it had multiplayer I still wouldn't as I refuse to buy from Double Fine anymore because they are a terrible company.

Ah, people are still defending GOG. Figures. Selling an inferior product, and you're happy about it? Does not compute. Though it's not the only one here.

*cough*Witcher2*cough*

Edit. GOG, yes. GOG accepted this game from Double Fine. It's not DF's fault at all.

Yeah, inferior drm version.

From other double fine games I think I'll refrain from getting their games: they're usually quite so so, Psychonauts was OK but it annoyed me quite some (english? :P).

edit: couldn't they sell it at the same price on Steam but give a Steam Key above the drm free solo? I mean Gog did that for other games in their catalog, Don't Starve had a key for the updates, etc...
