As heroic as fantasy gets!

Blade of Darkness, a brutal and challenging TPP action hack ‘n’ slasher set in a dark and gritty heroic fantasy realm that feels like a Robert E. Howard novel, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99

Heroic fantasy--a genre of fiction that has fueled the imaginations of many generations. Dark and brutal worlds full of injustice and ominous magic are always waiting for a champion: a man or woman, scantily clad, wielding a legendary weapon, slashing beasts and villains left and right, and looking as fabulous as a demigod. This is the heart and soul of such stories and it didn't change much since the time of ancient myths. The fact that we enjoy them so much proves that we aren't that different from our great ancestors and tales of godlike heroism still get our blood run pumping. Gather ‘round, friends, and hear the story of four heroes and their epic battle against the dark overlord, Dal Gurak, the necromancer.

Blade of Darkness is a third person perspective action game that focuses on combat. Each of the four heroes has its very own set of moves and statistics, and starts the adventure in a different area. There's over 100 different weapons you can use in the game, each with its own characteristics that reflect on the fighting style. New special attacks can be unlocked as your character gains experience and power. While you slash and bash through the hordes of terrifying monsters, you will feel the urge sometimes to stop and look at the beautiful--if a bit gloomy--surroundings. If you're looking for a game that will take you on a fantastic quest filled with merciless combat, this is the one to pick up!

There are great deeds of bravery and might to be done in Blade of Darkness, for only $5.99 on GOG.com. Get heroic!
So you just released Severance with no mention of it being Severance.

Phaidox: SEVERANCE!!! One of the best PC games ever created and truly one of its kind, I might add.
I remember me and my friends played the demo quite a lot, but was never able to find it anywhere to buy in South Africa. At long last I can play the full version
Great news, was waiting for this game for ages. :)
I remember playing this through with the barbarian - it was surprisingly fun game after you got hold of the controls. Not exactly Die by the Sword - but fun game nontheless. should maybe play it through as the knights sometime.

F4LL0UT: Edit: And even multilingual. I just presume that German is missing because the game was either banned or had its own censored edition there?
The game was blacklisted, but never censored. No censored version was ever released. My version was in German only, so there was a German dub.

I expect German is missing to avoid the accusation that GOG is deliberately marketing a blacklisted game to a German audience. That's usually what makes the difference in a court of law.
This is really a nice surprise, just this morning I was thinking about it could be nice to have the game in my gog collection.

I used to be a user of the Rebel act forums when they released the game, I still have my collector edition, anyway I'm going to add it to my wishlist :)

Like others said it could be nice to have the soundtrack by Oscar Araujo. I loved it!

Edmund: Wasn't this called, Severance: Blade of Darkness? I loved that game.
Also in Spain, and I suppose in others countries (ouch, Judas corrected me in just one minute :P), it was called "Blade: The Edge of Darkness"

Well, the game did have three different titles depending on the region:

Spain: Blade: The Edge of Darkness
Other European countries: Severance: Blade of Darkness
US: Blade of Darkness

Pick one :D

Holy cow, it's the same great news like System Shock 2 re-release on GOG!

I remember playing this long time ago, atmosphere, music and dynamic light and shadows. Marvelous!

BTW. best class - Amazon (dodging), most difficult - dwarf.

And don't forget about runes, don't say more :]
WOW severance: I loved that game! It's amazing. I even think the graphics (even though abit blocky) still hold up. Deep combo system and hard as hell if i remember correctly.

I tried to replay it just a few weeks ago but i wouldn't work! So this is my chance! Can't afford it right now but definitely wishlisted.
Nice release, still own the original dvd edition with the character card instruction manual. Good hack 'n' slash game.
Never heard of this, but it looks interesting. Probably gonna pick it up eventually :)
does this game play like Die By the Sword? i mean with the unique controls for swinging the sword.

I think it was only called 'Severance' in Europe or something - Mobygames only has Severance as an alt title anyway:
