Alan Wake's American Nightmare, a standalone expansion to the gripping action thriller, in which we face America's biggest fears and urban legends, is now available for only $9.99 on GOG.com. That's a $4.99 permanent price drop for this action-adventure modern classic.

Alan Wake is one of the modern times most characteristic game protagonists. He's a character that would fit perfectly in a Stephen King novel--a writer facing a creative block, haunted by unexplained visions, losing his grip on reality, and being drawn ever closer by a dark, unknown menace. The setting of his spine-chilling adventure also reaches deep into the literary traditions of placing the most terrifying stories in seemingly idyllic American small towns, where everybody knows their neighbors, but everyone harbors dark secrets and twisted thoughts. The battle between light and darkness, good and evil, chaos and order, will be taking place in America's backyard, and you will be Alan Wake--the light bearer.

I liked the story of original game better but prefer American Nightmare because of vastly improved gameplay. If Remedy plans to make Alan Wake 2 (for PC) with AN improvements someday, I'd mindlessly click on Pre-order button. Okay, I'd do that for anything from Remedy that ain't sport game.

Alan Wake is awesome, however this "American Nightmare" is not. I wouldn't waste my cash.
nice to see the price drop always welcome here.
Price drops are so rare... Chance for a change?
I bougth both Alan Wake's games..
I have the GOG's version and the HumbleBundle 1U$D with the Steam Keys...

About the Humblebundle weekly sale, I bought one for my self and SEVEN more copies for gifting.. I tried to buy more, but Humblebundle didn't allow me to do that. ¬¬

I recently finished the 8 episodes of the Steam version of Alan Wake, and I LOVE IT... Look at my profile http://steamcommunity.com/id/Digital_CHE

I don't understand why some gamers hate it...

One thing is sure: If You are a FIFA FANBOY or a Call Of Duty FANBOY, THIS GAME IS NOT FOR YOU..
I'm a 35 years old man and I look for MATURE games like this. :)

Now, I'm playng American Nightmare and the only thing that I don like, is that the game doesn't have spanish voiceovers... One can notice that is a low budget game.

I will replay the first Alan Wake game in Nightmare mode... Someday.. With a BIG Widescreen monitor.
