Little worlds need their gods, too!

Reus, an imaginative 2D god-game that makes you a deity of a small planet and a master to its elemental titans, will be available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 for the first week!

Do you like to play god? Admit it--you do. Who doesn't. The absolute power that god-games give is ever so tempting and satisfying. The ability to shape the face of the world, and by extent the fates of its little inhabitants is simply intoxicating. Oh wait, did I say "little"? Well, to themselves they probably look quite regular in size. It's all a matter of perspective--every world seems tiny when you're an boundless being of limitless power. In this case, however, the planet is indeed quite small. The people living on its surface look even tinier in comparison to the elemental titans, huge beings that serve as your worldly avatars. Huge, again, is only a word that applies here conditionally. Even the giant beasts seem puny if they do your every bidding and fit on your computer screen. On your lap or your desk. In your room. At your home. In your town. In your country. In the world, also a small planet that's but a tiny blue dot floating in the endless blackness of the Universe. Perspective.

Reus puts a whole world in your hands. The planet you're destined to watch over is a complex world full of dependencies and synergies, making every act you perform cause a great impact on the gameworld and its inhabitants. You directly control the actions of giant elementals roaming its surface--may they be creative or destructive. You can raise or lower mountains, move bodies of water, cause forests to grow or die. Yours is the ultimate power. The only thing you can't affect directly are the actions of the tiny humans, possessing their own free will. Will they fear you as the bane of their land, or worship you as their divine benefactor? It's all up to you. With intriguing and diverse gameplay, lots of correlations to discover, and many challenges to complete, Reus will entertain you for a long, long time.

With unbelievable cosmic power Reus allows you to play god for only $8.99 on GOG.com. The offer lasts until Thursday, May 23, at 9:59AM GMT.

Bloodygoodgames: Hey T,

Is it just me or is this game not showing on the front page at all?

I don't see an announcement on the main page nor a topic about it (had to look in the forums to find this).

My end or yours, if you know what I mean :) ?
That's 'cause the release got moved back to 7:00 local time (i.e. five hours and twenty minutes from now.) due to reasons.

Crosmando: I'd personally need Wizardry or AD&D stuff to suffer a d20+3 in Mind Blown

TheEnigmaticT: I don't recall a spell that does d20 psionic damage. >.>
Technically, couldn't you augment that magic missile equivalent of a Psion power to do enough damage? :p

But speaking of Psionics, when do we get Dark Sun: Shattered Lands? :p

I tried using this with my boss... it didn't take. He had followup questions that I assumed the statement had already covered ;)
Does this mean we get another mysterious release to replace Chaos Overlords? Hmmm...
I'm not attacking your website, I'm refreshing for the release.

Come on, come on, come on... I have waited all week, I guess another hour wont hurt. :-(

Sadly it'll prob be some indie shovelware due to having to sign a contract in a few hours

JMich: But it is Chaos Overlords, right?
*grabs his shotgun*
Right?

TheEnigmaticT: Dear JMich;

Chaos Overlords is sick today and cannot come to work. Please excuse his absence. He should be good to go next week.

Mrs. Overlords.
From 'This week on GOG ep: 27'
"...And this week's classic release is... erm... the one we should have had last week but all we got was a sick note from its Mum, it assures us it's feeling fine now"
The developer probably found a few last minute bugs and decided to hold back a few hours and smash them before release, happened with Retro City Rampage here on GOG as I remember
One of the developers told me on Desura that Reus will be released at 6 pm GMT worldwide.

That's 7 pm in Germany which means we have to wait about 5h 20m from now.

Just as an observation, GOG seems to have noticed my complaint and stopped calling it "classic release" and changed it to "enigmatic release".

It's not like we don't have any other games we could release. The other release for the day is actually pretty sweet if vertical shooters is your thing.
