A completely new chapter in the most prominent modern horror game series.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, a terrifying survival horror game set in Victorian London, on the edge of insanity and nightmare, is available for pre-orders 20% off on GOG.com. That's only $15.99 before the game is released on September 10.

Cold sweat running down my back, I sit wide awake in my bed. Before the fever is back, I have a moment of clarity to reflect upon my dreams. The noise of the machine that haunts them still sounds in my head. The visions of infernal machinery are driving me insane, never revealing the installations whole form nor purpose. All I'm certain about is my fear. The cold sting of its needle pierces right through my heart. The world feels more and more like a small cardboard box, and its walls are getting closer, and closer. Finally, they will close on me and trap me inside, like in a little coffin. Even though the window is open, and the cold, damp air of the London night extends its tendrils down my lungs, I don't feel that I can breathe freely as the fear consumes me. I can hear that infernal engine again. Strange, I could've sworn I'm not asleep anymore.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, the indirect sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent excels in the art of terror storytelling. Using first-person perspective gameplay, suggestive visuals, and chilling ambiance, it creates an experience that all horror fans will deeply appreciate. Altering and expanding the ideas used in the previous Amnesia story, the game offers a new level of immersion and interaction, that will make you feel a part of the events more than ever before. With a gripping story-line, perfect pacing, and atmospheric environment design, this title is everything you need to make your heart beat faster.

Pre-order Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs for only $15.99 on GOG.com today, and start preparing for one of the most terrifying and unsettling gaming experiences of your life. The 20% pre-order discount offer lasts until the game's release, which is expected on September 10.
Great addition to the GOG catalog.

Interestingly, I didn't realize that Frictional isn't developing this game, just publishing.

Kunovski: hmm, I wonder how many times do you guys play your games? I'm having real trouble finishing many games even once :D
Depends completely on the game. Can be anything between 0 and 20 times. Some games are just so much fun that you want to relive them again, and again, and again, time to time. While some, you'll be fighting with your inner demons just to finish it even once.
Pre-order made. Awesome GOG, this is what I like to see! New high quality games at a very reasonable price!

But as somebody else said - it would be nice if you guys started supporting Linux as well.

strange, for me the "reliving" is never the same as with the first playthrough, unless it's been like 10 years since my last playing, so I don't do that very often :) my problem of course is a lack of concentration - while one week I'm totally hooked in some game, after that I remember some other game I'm in the middle of, or some new release, and the previous game is forgotten :o) and so on and so on...

Daliz: Will buy immediately... when a Linux version becomes available :) I'm quite sure they'll make one, if it's not available at launch.
Same here. GOG can have my money then.

I admit I do that replaying less nowadays, partly because I want to move on with my backlog, not just play the same games over and over. A few games that I've played quite many times through are:

Starcraft + Brood War
Age of Empires 1-2
Half-life 1 + Opposing Force + Blueshift
Serious Sam (First and Second Encounter)

I can't really tell why exactly those games triggered me to replay them many times from start to finish (and even nowadays I sometimes get a bit of an urge). Then again, partly it may sometimes be also about being lazy, it is much easier to start playing (again) some game you know inside out and you know you like it, instead of having to learn a completely new game which can turn out to be a PoS. :)
Steam lists Linux support. Don't make me do it, please :(
I consider finishing Amnesia, with headphones at night, one of my most proud gaming achievements :-)
That dose of horror lasted me years, not sure if I am ready for another just yet..

can I ask? is there actually some interesting story worth experiencing, or is it just creeping around getting scared by authors on every occasion? :D this is the reason I try to play Penumbra from time to time - as I really want to know what happened in that bunker - but Amnesia always seemed just like a scary house without anything else in it but "boo"s...
Gonna have to get it on Steam, for that Linux version. Sorry GOG.

We don't really know what quality this game is gonna be. After all, it's not being done by the devs that made the original Amnesia.

EDIT: I like how this game is cheaper than the first one. (with the pre-order discount, of course, but still.)

Gr8! But no soundtrack? :/
This would be an instabuy for me, but I'm going to have to wait and see if they offer the soundtrack with it for buying straight from Frictional.

Oh yeah, Steam version is up for same price for those who use Linux, and the Gamersgate version also claims to support Linux for those who want it DRM-free or just have a lot of spare blue coins.

Sorry GOG, gonna have to buy direct from the developer or get it on Steam. Linux support is a must.
