Enebias: I limited myself to a simple correction, since lately the media are doing nothing but spreading blatantly false information, the one about an "elected governement" being just one among the many (and I don't think I need to underline the intrinsic risks of letting that situation slide).
I hear this always more frequently, so I decided to be a "good citizen" and correct it any time I can (wich is often).
In any case, under a strictly technical standpoint, the Constitution has indeed been respected -at least formally.
Fair enough. Point is that as far as I can remember, that's how things worked in practice: parties put forward a PM candidate, and if they won the candidate was appointed by the President. The Constitution may not be in favor of this practice, but is not against it either, isn'it? At least before we had the illusion of choice.
Now, the last political elections (feb. 2013) left us with a tie between centre-left and centre-right coalitions (29.5% and 29.1% of votes respectively) and M5S not far behind (25.5%). We're now run by a mostly centre-left government with the support of a centre-right minority, the initial coalitions we voted for completely disintegrated of course, and PD already managed to cannibalize their former PM Letta.
Also, fun little detail: a few months after the elections, the Constitutional Court suddenly wakes up and declares our electoral law UNCOSTITUTIONAL only EIGHT YEARS after its inception.
I'm still not clear whether that makes our whole Parliament uncostitutional or not, but perhaps another country with a more sane ruling class, would have, I dunno, maybe established a proper electoral law and then voted again (as they told us they would do SOON™)? Or perhaps made a true government of national unity to adress the real issues of this country, unlike this... thing which is only held together by the fear of populists gaining more ground. Anything but dragging this farce of a government up until 2018 basically?
While they keep play their little games, in the everyday life this country is still slowly bleeding to death. How do you get rid of a ruling class that does anything but their job in a modern representative democracy? You can't. You just can't. I feel completely powerless.
And this has gone horribly off topic, apologies to gyokzoli.
