Sorry, I have to ressurect this topic.
I would really like to see downloadable XP and Vista compatible versions of both the PG series and the Steel Panthers series'.
blizzak had a post requesting the PG titles and SkullCowboy offered up this website http://www.peachmountain.com/5star/index.asp
I checked out this site and from what I could see Panzer General is not offered as a download. What is offered is patches and MODs. When you go to the download section is even says that what you are downloading is not the actual game. It tells you to go to www.theunderdogs.net (bad URL) This site is now under the URL http://www.the-underdogs.info/. When you look up Panzer General it says the download file is broken and unavailable. If I am incorrect please let me know.
Bottom line...It would be great if GOG.com could ressurect the Panzer General and Steel Panthers series'

Definitely would love to see the whole 5 Star General series show up.
As for Steel Panthers, there are some modern remakes of those games that are freeware (you can also purchase versions with more features) available from Shrapnel Games, in case you didn't know. Both are very good, and new scenarios/campaigns are still being made.

the games matrix supports are steel panthers 1 & 2 based. i would like to see the forgotten steel panthers 3 on GOG. and how about harpoon 2 admirals edition while im wishing

Actually, SP : WW2 and SP : MBT are based on SP 1 and 2 code. SP : WaW is based on SP3 code, but dropped back into a WW2/Korea time frame. So far as I'm aware, Steel Panthers rights are owned by Ubisoft. Matrix was talking about an SP remake years ago, but they would have had to go with a different name due to rights issues. Harpoon is published by Matrix/Slitherine, and it seems that is exclusively (of course, that line is long dead in terms of new material).
