It's been a while, but thanks to the people at IDEA Games, Original War has returned to the GOG.com catalog!
For those of you who don't recall the game, it is a tactical [url=http://www.gog.com/en/search/sort/genre/real-time]real-time strategy game, featuring great gameplay and an awesome, non-linear storyline. It's impossible to cover the whole story in just a few words, but it's all about time travel, most importantly using it to ensure a prosperous future for your faction (the USA or USSR) and stop your competitors from doing the same for theirs... Actually, they already did it, so you have to go back to stop them from doing it again... Or at all... To put icing on the already delicious cake, the game sports great music and a well-balanced multiplayer mode, which is pretty lively, especially for a game of Original War's age.

Great to see that the dispute was resolved and that the game is back on GoG :)

Also just a quick question, but does the game have a skirmish mode?

This orta make a number of people happy.
Anyway, I'll grab this come Thursday payday. I was just on the edge of grabbing it before it vanished last time, and I don't want to miss my chance (even if I'll not get around to playing it for a good while) again.

Yay! Great news for people that missed it when it was previously available. While I would't call it the best RTS around, it certainly is good and original. I especially liked the RPG aspects.
Now, pretty please, get Operation Flashpoint GOTY back too ;) Hit their heads together if you have to :P
Edit: Oh by the way, do I need to redownload the installer as I have the one before game was pulled?
[nitpicking mode] Oh and size of wallpaper pack is stated wrong (13MB). It's actually 21.2 MB.[/nitpicking mode] ;)

Hooray, finally some good news! GJ guys.
overread: no, the game doesn't have skirmish, because most of the campaign AI is based on scripts, IIRC.

Oh, crap! This game? Didn't check it out at all back when it was available, but now I recognize it. I played the demo for it ages ago, where I consistently managed to fail everything at every turn. That was quite some time ago though.

This is a good news... Im not so interested in the game but that just proove GOG poeple are very persistant. I have no more fear in your capacity to get us more game. Good job!
The game is 5.99 WOW it was 9.99 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I saw that, which was oddly contrasted against the first post where this was said:

I'm guessing it's the same blurb used to announce the first appearance of the game here and it hasn't been updated to reflect the known issue.

Shall add this to the list of games I have to get one of these days. Not only war but an original one!
I know the answer is probably a no but since the situation has been resolved, can there be any light shed on why it was pulled in the first place? I always get curious about why these things happen
