HypersomniacLive: There's more to the repeats than "boring...". As I've said elsewhere:
-- There's a good chance, some people may have not been here on Jun. 21 or didn't have all the funds to buy every game they eyed, so they get at least one more chance.
-- A repeat gives one more time to decide if they're going to buy a game or bundle they were unsure of on Solstice Day - I have a couple of friends that fall into this category.

CrowTRobo: I couldn't agree more. I can't believe how much complaining is going on about this sale in every news post each day. "You are only giving me 50% off almost every game and more for the daily deals? You suck GOG!".

I actually did not get a chance to check GOG on the longest day of the year because I was out and about. So being able to still pick up the same bundles/discounts that was offered on that day is a huge plus.
It may kill the suspense a little because of the preview (Friday), but I kind of like it in a way. It gives the customer more flexibility. You can plan out how you want to go forward during the promotion . It also may help maximize GOG's chances of making a sale from you too. Not to mention those that missed the first week of it.

Look at Steam in comparison. If I'm not mistaken, you know pretty much everything that's going to be deep discounted before the sale is halfway over with. They just keep recycling the same ones. That's what it looks like to me.

There's not much difference here except maybe perception. Right? GOG shows you everything in one day (Friday), and Valve shows you everything in 2-4 days. If anything GOG's formula may offer you more flexibility because it's more transparent, perhaps.

Edit: That's assuming that they follow the same formula as the Christmas promo before, obviously. They may throw us a curve ball or two before it's over with for all I know. :)

DavosWoman: Anyone else notice they've removed a number of games from the 50% flat rate discount? Games like "Die by the Sword", "Earthworm Jim 1+2", all the Fallout games, etc.? Just my luck, my money comes in and a lot of those games are back to full price!
They gave us a warning - it was about 60 games from several publishers. Check the news posts. But I'm glad you were lucky anyway!

joppo: Why? No love for seizures?

PaterAlf: Who needs Dyad if he has the Battling Seizure Robots?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FXPBPruBYA
The Power Rangers / Super Sentai / [pick a japanese giant-mecha live-action show] never thought they could stop the Monster of the Week™ so easily.

Dyad isn't useless, tho. If you ever feel the need to alienate a kid from wanting to play games, you just need to give him a copy and wait for the seizure. Just stay around and be prepared or the kid will lose more than just the will to play games.

*Disclaimer: this post shouldn't be taken seriously.

I let the discussion with Wishbone die because the only point I wanted to make was that not every single customer of GOG purchased all and every game they wanted on Jun. 21 for any number of reasons and I see no reason they shouldn't be getting another chance, even if they're not the majority.

But the fact is that all the bundles now are repeats, nothing new. If you want to give customers the chance to get a bundle they missed, sure you can repeat a couple, but at least keep offering new deals.

I'm (hopefully) getting paid tomorrow. My grab list on the 21st came out at ~$70, which at that point I didn't have. So I do appreciate each and every repeat we see.
Also, during Christmas, I had the money saved, so on the 21st I grabbed everything and I was no longer worried about what GOG would have on sale. I was happy to see the D&D promo, even though I already had the games, but I knew that I could spend the rest of my shopping money elsewhere, if any deal I wanted popped up.

Both cases have merit, and I peersonally do appreciate seeing everything early on, even if we have repeats for the rest of the days. And this does come from an obsessive compulsive.

In other words: Okay, repeat the bundles because people could have missed them. But you should at least offer new bundles that WILL NOT be offered a second time, because, if people lose THESE new bundles, screw them.

It all looks so simple in the land of complainers...
