You have to wait no longer - Spellforce Platinum is now available, DRM-free, for only $9.99.
<a href="http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/spellforce_platinum">Spellforce Platinum consists of the main game and both expansions - The Breath of Winter and Shadow of the Phoenix. The game is set in a fantasy world, ruined by a failed magical ritual. Your task is to create your hero - an avatar who will lead your armies - and embark on a journey to save that world. The game is a mixture of role-playing and real-time strategy, altough sometimes you will be allowed a break from commanding your troops and enjoy a bit of relaxing hack-n-slash action. All this packed into a set of nice visuals, for your gaming pleasure.
Nice, I can't wait for my download to finish.

This title looks interesting. What would you who have played it say it is like in its play style?
Thanks

it a cross between and rpg and rts, a bit like warcraft you build and collect resources build units upgrade, etc. For me a perfect blend. Your main Character that you start with levels up as you gain experience and get better weapons, armour, spells etc. at this price it's a steal...

How is the gameplay? Smooth and fluid or somewhat overwhelming?
Are there any stupid mini-games in it??

As far there are some simple puzzle type missions like the combination for a lock chest, but as far as i'm aware there is no mini games. it starts off easy and builds up nicely try the demo if you are not sure. One nice thing is that the units are tabbed across the top of the screen so that you can select them easily in the heat of battle.

Hmmm sounds interesting. I don't normally play any RTS games but as long it's fun I will. I will add this to my buy list then.

I have the original Spellforce on CD but was unable to get the expansions, that was the main reason for getting it now. it's a long game but great fun. Thats just my opinion.
Try out the demo, http://www.gamershell.com/download_4604.shtml
I might just buy this game. Time will tell ;)
I have been waiting for this one. I got it from a friend for my birthday some years ago, but was unable to finish even the tutorial because of a weird bug. I never played the rest of the game because of that.
Not sure if I'll buy it right now though, since Street Fighter 4 have kept me pretty busy the last days. :p
Looking at all the Jowood Games I got with my graphics cards over the years, I notice I only have SpellForce The Order of Dawn so I think GOG is about to get more of my non-existant money >_> Just don't tell the credit card company ;)
Fantastic game. Takes a long time to finish I never did and the 2 expansion packs add loads more. This game is a fantastic buy for your money you will certainly get good value for money out of this.
Also loved the music and the intro was well done
Sold! I'm going to give it a shot under Wine.
I too, have been waiting for this one for a little while. Particularly after the brief release that it had here. I'm happy to finally be able to get into this one.
