Today we complete our Lords of the Realm collection on GOG.com with the third and last part of the series - at least until Rebellion releases its sequel.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/lords_of_the_realm_3]Lords of the Realm 3 is part real-time strategy, part turn-based strategy, set in medieval Europe. The sequel to the games found in our Royal Edition pack, this third installment is very different from its predecessors. Most notably, it's based on a 3D engine, offering good visuals, even by today's standards. The managerial part is also much simpler, making the game more accessible for the average gamer. The real-time battles are where this game shines, letting you command troops, cavalry and siege engines in all their glory. The game's campaigns are based on actual history, with each scenario preceded by a movie describing its historical background.
Huh I didn't know there was a Lords of the Realm the Third. HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH HUH.

Doesn't matter. It's an abomination.
Not had the opportunity to try this series out.
At $5.99 I think I owe it to myself :)

This is generally seen as the worst game in the series, though, so if you're new to it you should start with the two first.

That's the blight of being both a gamer and a collector.
As a gamer i want good games, as a collector i want them all :)
The worst game in an average game series. I'll pass.
The least good game of the series...
But still interesting, they should have kept it 2D though...
Ugly 3D has nothing on Pretty 2D...
This is one for the wishlist...

Amen to that, my fellow collector :)
If I had the others, the completist in me would buy it for the sake of the collection. Other than that, I don't really know anything about it so I can't comment either way.

Why do you think one of the best strategy games to be released in the 90s is merely average?

Because taste is like ones arse; divided by a great big smelly crack.
