Moving much of the original post preamble here, since I need the allowed characters for the list.

----------------------------------------

Soundtracks are popular extras here, and GOG has done a great job in trying to include one where feasible. They have even begun offering FLAC versions when those are available. But there are a number of games here which still do not include a soundtrack.

I have combed through the catalogue to assemble a list of games which have no soundtrack or a partial soundtrack (usually a sampler including a few tunes). I am hunting down where to obtain these soundtracks, starting the popular source bandcamp.com.

I would like to ask your help in making this list more useful. If you know of a source for one of these soundtracks, please post it and I'll add it the list. Also, if you know that one of these games doesn't have a soundtrack (some have little to no music in the game), let me know about that and I'll mark it as such.

I would be glad to create a GOGmix to go with this if there is a desire. tfishell has one with instructions on finding or extracting the soundtracks of some specific games.
Music for:

Wing Commander 4: The Price of Freedom
Wing Commander 5: Prophecy Gold Edition
Wing Commander: Privateer

Not sure if they're full soundtracks though.

Maybe a blue could squeeze an extra post? Don't know if it's even technically possible, just an idea to keep everything neat and tidy ;-P

Ghorpm: Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption actually has a soundtrack in MP3 format, no less. Check your installation folder:

...\Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption\Sounds\Music
Good spotting! I want to add those kind of games as well. I read that Perimeter has the music in a folder in OGG format, so I can reinstall that to check.

HypersomniacLive: Not sure if they're full soundtracks though.
That's okay, I'm including pretty much anything that is legitimately available. If it gets superceded later, that's fine too.

T'would be nice. :)

Added the following:

King's Bounty: The Legend - soundtrack
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 - soundtrack (free)
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - soundtrack (free)

The Legacy of Kain ones were provided directly by the composers, which is nice.

Oh, and this thread has been crawled by the search engines now, so it keeps coming up in my search results. My own worst enemy. ;)

Whilst I don't have the GOG version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC, I would doubt it contains the full 30+ tracks (which incidentally are not available from GSCs site either, but were made available by the artist: Mooze for download).
Anybody want to tell me the state of the SoC soundtracks?
Queststudios.com has a whole bunch of Sierra game MIDI music gathered. The About page even has an inspiring story about how he contacted Sierra and they not only approved but also helped supply some of them.

I see you already have the links to Leisure Suit Larry from this site, but there are lots more, including:

* Betrayal at Krondor
* King's Quest 1-7 (some more complete than others)
* Police Quest 1-4
* Quest for Glory 1-5
* Space Quest 1-6

I posted about those earlier:

adamhm: Additional tracks from STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl are available here: http://www.game-ost.com/info.php?id=828
and

IAmSinistar: Okay, we can leave your post in place. I won't add the link to the main list, because GOG already supplies the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. soundtracks.
avatar
adamhm: It's a different soundtrack to the one GOG provides (and neither of them are complete).

GOG's soundtrack is a higher quality version of the soundtrack available for download from the STALKER website.

The game-ost.ru soundtrack does not include the tracks by Firelake but has more of the ambient tracks and the main "theme"/menu track.

AHAH! Cheers! :)

...and thats exactly the link I was on about as well!
Music for Dungeon Keeper 2 and Populous, the Beginning on Mark 'TDK' Knight site here (might have to scroll down a bit).
A couple resources that may be helpful:

http://sierrachest.com/index.php?a=mu (many Sierra soundtracks, though you have SierraHelp so it's probably redundant)

http://downloads.khinsider.com/ (I've found some old game soundtracks here before, didn't look specifically for any GOG titles yet)

Cheers to IAmSinistar for organizing this thread. :)

Some soundtracks can be found in the game folders:
- Caesar 3
- Pharaoh (guess it's the same for Zeus)
- Ghost Recon
- UFO Aftermath
- Commandos Ammo pack
- Incoming Forces
- Medal Of Honor
- Little Big Adventure 2

Quite a few soundtracks from oldies here./ltf_abandon/ltf_musiques.php
- Theme Hospital
- Crusader No Remorse
- Combat Chess
- Dark Reign
- Moto Racer
- Moto Racer 2
- Return To Zork
- Ultima 7
- Ultima 8
- Unreal
- Unreal Tournament

I'm not sure whether the Geneforge saga features any music. I don't remember any from the first two games. It might be the same for Avernum and Avadon.

Elinnea: Oh, and here's Expeditions: Conquistador: http://leobadinella.bandcamp.com/album/expeditions-conquistador-soundtrack

Listening to this one now. It's quite nice. :)
Looks like Jonas Waever enjoyed working with him on The Nameless Mod. It's a small world. :)

IAmSinistar: A list of GOG games without soundtracks or partial soundtracks. Original thread preamble here.

A game is counted as having a soundtrack if it lists "soundtrack", "in-game soundtrack", or "X soundtracks" on its gamecard. Where you see "game folder", the soundtrack is in a useable format as part of the game installation.
Nice topic :)

if i may :

soundtrack = often they are considered commercial enclosure or bonus content ((like in collector edition)

in game soundtrack = i don"t like very much those , because either there are some tracks have issues and or bad quality (too often i came accross one or both cases). Yes i know i'm a bit picky ;) . But sometimes i agree you have only this ressource for the music content.

2 databases if you don't know them :

http://vgmdb.net/
http://www.mirsoft.info/index.php

with both you should cover any infos you need ;)
