There was an offer for Portugal (I think) to get free Medal of Honor Airborne the other day so perhaps they are going to be offering various regions their own freebies.
Wow, what a misleading thread title... for a second I thought this was actually gonna be interesting. :P
an EA promo valid only for North Americans? what else is new?

but i never thought EA was evil. i'm not a silly person.

Reading the title I was expecting something like DRM free and remove Origin to be mandatory. Argh.. wish that day would come.

Voltageline: I just got an email from Origin with a code for a download of Spore, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Dragon Age: Origins for free in honor of the 1-year anniversary of Origin. If you don't have an Origin account, and you would like one of these games, now would be a good time to pick one up, as the offer expires June 23, 2012.

Now I just have to decide which one to get...any suggestions?

EDIT: Valid only in the U.S. and Canada, apparently.
They are not being nice, they are just afraid of Steam and doing the smart thing.

To those who haven't gotten the email, try going on live chat and raising the question. I did that, and managed to get a game added to my account.

It's worth a shot, if you still haven't gotten the email.

It's another reason Origin will ultimately fail as they still have that typical insular 'American' way of thinking ie: the rest of the world isn't important. It's so silly as so many Americans who sell online don't seem to understand more than half of the business in the world, in just about every online business, comes from outside the US so they cut off their noses to spite their face.

Needless to say, I rarely buy games anywhere but GOG, GamersGate and Big Fish Games, all who sell to anyone and whose special offers apply to everyone. BFG is one American company that DOES get it, and probably why they're doing so amazingly well.
Here's a workaround if you're really interested in raging against the EA machine:

No luck for me.
It still works. Just use live chat. It takes a bit of wait (I waited for an hour). I asked for Spore, but the helper actually gave me both Spore and Battlefield:BC2 (seem like he added Battlefield by mistake first). He acutally let me keep Battlefield too. Although I don't like most of EA's policy, still have to admit that EA's support has done a really nice job, much better than steam support.
