xxxIndyxxx: I had some fun with Lord of the Rings: the fellowship of the ring but there was something wrong with my retail copy because it stopped when reaching moria. The levels just weren't there. Never had such a failed disc ever before. It was like they forgot to put half the game on there. I think i checked the files and they just weren't there.

Like I said it had fome fun with it but it was a very basis action game and it reminded me of demon stone.
I'm not sure if the comment is an intentional gag, but the end of the game really was just after that. You'd come out of the Mines of Moria, see a massively extended interactive cutscene and then one short level with a boss battle. It always struck me as massively odd that they decided to stop the game there and not at the breakup of the Fellowship.

Ironically, the EA Two Towers game starts just before the end of the Sierra FotR game, namely in the Mines of Moria and Amon Hen in the first book/film. Unfortunately, EA's Two Towers game never saw a PC release, which is a shame, because it was a damn fine example of how to do a good film licensed game.

(Return of the King was, however, released on the PC)

mondo84: Here are all the LOTR games in the GOG wishlist:

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#search=lord%20of%20the%20rings&order=votes_total

There are EA games on GOG, so I'm not sure what the reason might be we don't have them yet. Maybe they are planned for the future. :)
this should just about cover what is out there new and old (hopefully not online as it doesn't suit GOG)

JMich: Third Party License? The LotR name specifically? Who owns that btw, Newline Cinema or someone else?
Actually the family still owns the right they are suing atm because of slotmachines

I've picked them all up on EBay. If you really want them and go this route, I advise taking your time, monitoring the auctions, and be very patient. In this way you can get the original BFME and BFME 2 for reasonable prices. It takes a lot more patience and perseverance to get the Rise of the Witch King expansion for BFME 2 at a reasonable price. Some of the "asking" and "getting" prices for that are ridiculous. But it can be had for a reasonable price if you take the time, hit the right auction, and have a little luck...if you just must have it.

Better yet..it would be awesome if they just came here :D

To the OP: I personally enjoyed both BFME1&2. I would only recommend getting the expansion Rise of the Witch King if you are really gung-ho about BFMR 2, and just have to have more. It's rather difficult, and currently ,usually pretty expensive to pick up

Yeah right there is my problem. I have no patience for ebay haha. It's such a shame too, I really enjoyed these games when they came out. It's definitely something im kicking myself for not buying.
Battle for Middle Earth 1 and 2 are two of my favourite RTS games.

Graphics, game mechanics, heroes, units, music, maps everything is great.

BFME2 has still great and big community. Unofficial patches and tournaments.

I was lucky some years ago to buy the Anthology of BFME for 10 or 15 euros, shame its not sold any more.

Really wish GoG would sell them some time in the future.

RaggieRags: Lego Lord of the Rings is more fun than a toy license game should be allowed. Especially as a couch co-op.
Indeed, that one is one of the best LEGO games. Good mood with a lot of humour. Also game mechanics encourage to play the same levels many times as you are not able get everywhere and find all bonuses when you first unlock the level.

Also not too hard for kids, but still enjoyable by parents ;)
Oops. Was on my phone and hit a button. I'll repost the subject, not as a question.

amok: LotRO is a very decent MMORPG, one of the 3 best ones in my opinion, and now that it is free to play - I see no reason at all why you should not try it.
Agreed, it really feels like Middle Earth, and on the whole, it has a fairly decent community. It's also very flexible, it's perfectly viable to play it like a single-player game with the ability to chat/trade with other players, if that's your style, or if you're into 12-man raids and guilds, that works too. As free-to-play models go, theirs has minimal annoyances.
