akhliber: Not an entry, but I figured this was amusing enough to share: a good 15 years or so ago, my father had open heart surgery, and he spent a couple days in recovery, pretty much unconscious or at least not together enough to talk. When he finally spoke, it was in response to a nurse coming in to give him a shot on his inner thigh. She pulled up his hospital gown and said, "just a little prick." My father, who had barely showed any signs of being awake since the procedure, yelled back at her like all loud like a drunkard, "you don't have to remind me!" and then erupted with laughter. The poor nurse spoke very little English, and it was obvious she didn't understand the joke, and ran out of the room thinking she'd upset him, as he was being so loud and animated out of nowhere.
