Someone offers the residents of Mousewood a deal of their lifetime - tickets to the greatest magic show that the world has ever seen. But the price is steep, as they'll have to bet their houses, their money… and their lives.

Let the Marquis lead you towards a late summer night's dream, today in The Night of The Rabbit, for only $9.99 on GOG.com. The promo lasts until Thursday, August 22, at 9:59AM GMT.
Why, oh why can´t Deadalic simply offer a 10$-germanLanguage Pack-Upgrade for NightOfTheRabbit instead of doing this crap here?!

DukeNukemForever: Not very likely. As Deonast mentioned, Daedalic had a special deal with a distributor to fund the game. As far as I remember that distributor has the right to sell the game in german exclusively, which means Daedalic can only offer the other languages except german. To get also the german version GOG needs to make a special deal with that distributor, which is very unlikely right know beause of the big price difference (30€ on Steam for the german version against 20$ here for the other languages).

Fesin: It's not that the German retail partner has the exclusive rights to the German version (like with Satinavs Ketten, where DS has the rights to the German version), but that the contract they made with them said that a digital version can't uncdercut their price.
So Daedalic can sell it on Steam in German, but they have to match the retail price.
Oh, that's sounds much better then what I was thinking to remember. So we just need to wait to that the german retail price goes down and then Daedalic can release the language pack. Still not very good and it will not happen very soon, but I can wait.

Theoretically at least, yeah.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think the Daedalic rep did more or less say something in this regard - when their partner is happy enough with the sales and the revenue, it might become easier to convince them to let them add German here on GOG.com.

So it's definitely true, that the situation with Night of the Rabbit is a lot less hopeless than with Chains of Satinav or The Whispered World (both Deep Silver).
Ive heard Night of The Rabbit is better in english, german should be rather bad. Is it true or should I waitfor a steam sale to get german language too?

Greets!

That's the news I was hoping for. I just recently bought Satinavs chains(on Steam *mea culpa*) so was hoping that buying it now might get me a german version in about a year or the like.

@merow: I've heard mixed reviews about the audio for both the German and English version) but I guess it's a case of personal taste. Generally the English version was lauded tremendously(Jerry presumably speaks perfect British English!!!).
Since Deponia I'm just glad to be able to hear german language not having to cringe all the time. ;-)
Thanks to Monty Arnold(german Entertainer/Actor btw) that is :-)

Thx I guess I wait for a steam sale, but more because of the ost and the audiobook (the premium content).

Schnuff: Well, a German game without the German language....another miss for me but i am
certain than in a short time it will make its debut as one of the freebies on a gamemag
DVD.

keeveek: This time it's not GOG's fault.
i know (have read that as GOG released the game).
But thats not a problem for me. The game itself was reviewed very badly
(a small highlight from gamestar: To fall asleep, TNotR tries to bewitch us with a story full of magic and adventures.
Only that the lame story enthralls us as much as a straitjacket David Copperfield).

Hmm the users reviews on metacritic and gamespot are 7.6/7.8 and the amazon reviews are pretty good too. I guess NoTR isnt as strong as other Daedlic-games but I guess its a good game if you can handle/like long dialogues and a childlike fairytale-ish theme.

I would quite like that too. The ability to have the German version, soundtrack and the short stories would be very nice. I could live with a bump up of say $10 for the SpecialEdition upgrade like they have done with the Dragon Commander upgrade pack.
Well, I guess we have to wait and see......

I couldn't care less about gamestar, ign and other "journals". So far I loved every single game from them. And regional pricing is pretty fair for Poland - the regular price on steam is 9.99EUR!
I won´t complain about the localization, translation etc. I will just speak as buyer and Gog customer.

I´ve preordered the game, back in May because It looks lovely and very interesting, a more complex and rich Daedalic game. But I didn´t expect, that the game would have some issues like no sound in FMV (a Visionare engine problem)and some bugs-crashes.

It´s natural..but we haven´t see a solution since May...and it´s a bit shame, that here in Gog, the game haven´t the same content (for eample, comic of premium steam edition) and it´s twice expensive.

I´m not trying to tell "don´t buy this game", I just want to be heard by Daedealic...Here in GoG we really love your games...don´t let us this way : \
Well Gamestar still gave The Night of the Rabbit 71%, which is barely poor.
It just shows the regular pattern of Germans being their hardest critics ;-)
Even good things have to be scrutinized till something bad transpires.

It appears to be the common assessment that TNOTR is of another calibre than Deponia, still I salute Daedalic for following alternate paths and I will possibly enjoy another fine game :-)
Just glad that there are still some adventuring pioneers out there.....
