The funniest fantasy book never written!

The Book of Unwritten Tales, a beautifully rendered comedic point-and-click adventure that spoofs all the popular fantasy worlds with their recycled tropes, is available 75% off on GOG.com. That's only $4.99 for the next 24 hours!

Aventásia is a fantasy realm like no other. No, wait. Just the opposite. It's a fantasy realm just like any other fantasy realm. Because, you know, all of them follow pretty much the same basic design. Sure, people coming up with all those world descriptions throw in an occasional gimmick and get creative when it comes to naming stuff, but that doesn't really fool anyone. An orc by any other name would smell just as bad. Strangely enough, we're OK with that world recycling most of the time and the cliches don't bother us all that much, it seems. But we know they're there. Oh, yes! That we do. We see them in movies, games, and books--so often that we don't even notice any more. Then someone comes and points them out to us, and this new perspective makes them hilarious. This is exactly what The Book of Unwritten Tales is all about.

The Book of Unwritten Tales uses the time-tested point-and-click adventure mechanics to present us with an unending series of gags and puns hitting the bullseye on the fantasy cliche targets. The story, the characters, the settings, and the dialogs--everything in this game is a twisted image of the fantasy meta-realm present in our popular culture. But it does not stop at that! While constantly making fun of other fantasy games, it's very successful in being a good and enjoyable fantasy game on its own. There's an intriguing story to follow, lots of creative puzzles to solve, and plenty of gorgeous locations to explore. Whether you're looking for some lighthearted laughs or pensive puzzles, this game has you covered!

In the library of over 500 games The Book of Unwritten Tales is one of the funniest, and you can get your copy for only $4.99 today! The offer lasts until Thursday, April 18, at 9:59AM GMT.
Awww, got this on Steam last time it was on sale. In the old days when I had a lot more money $5 would have been worth it for DRM free, but not today sadly.

Good adventure game, very pretty and often funny.

XYCat: So how's the game? More precisely how's the story and gameplay? Is it kleptomania with weird item combinations?
Pretty long game, not really too bizarre puzzles (wasn't annoying in that sense). Decent voice acting (almost good) sometimes it frustrated when those people walked places too slow though, especially when you switch characters and wait when that last one walks in to corner or something. =)
It was good. Also that loading screen. "hiding bugs"..

I liked it. In another sense, wasn't crap at all.
Looks like fun!

And somewhere around that point everything should go 'gargle gargle' and you finally stop looking at that bloody TV and notice the site and say 'Whoa, way cool!' You're also 11.
...
What?
off my wishlist.
Hope it's as good as it was told me.
It's a great adventure game, in the spirit of the old classics, and pretty funny too.
This offer is tempting
Nice offer but I have good feelings about tomorrow's release - so I'll skip this one.
