Dark, dark ages.

Inquisitor, a dark medieval story of witchcraft prosecution, inspired by the classic isometric gems of PC role-playing golden age, is available 66% off on GOG.com. That's only $4.99 for the next 24 hours.

Whispers in the dark, voices tempting the weak minds, demons creeping into the world of man--this is your reality, brother. To strike against evil is your holy duty. The edge of your sword is the way of redemption. Show no mercy, as you will find no compassion in the corrupt hearts of the enemies of faith. Remember this, brother, your work--as terrible as it may seem--is a necessity. Shall the bodies perish in fire, the souls will be saved. Do not hesitate to take the mundane lives of heretics, as their eternal lives are at stake. Do not be afraid to inflict pain, as you'll be saving them from eternal suffering and damnation. Truthfully, brother inquisitor, you'll be saving all of the world.

Inquisitor trailer

Inquisitor offers gameplay that takes you back to the classic era of isometric PC RPGs. Its dark, non-linear, and morally ambiguous story unfolds in thousands of pages worth of atmospheric dialog that paints a convincing picture of a medieval world facing a demonic threat. You play the part of the holy inquisitor in this tale, and your character's mission will force you to take drastic actions in order to stop a greater evil from taking over the realm and the souls of its inhabitants. Just like in the saying: to fight monsters, you'll need to become a monster yourself. This is one deep and satisfying classic RPG experience that won't leave you indifferent. If you long for the classic role-playing gameplay, you can't go wrong with Inquisitor!

Unleash your holy rage against the heretics in the phenomenally old-school RPG, Inquisitor, for only $4.99 on GOG.com. The promo lasts until Thursday, September 19, at 9:59AM GMT.

heretics must burn!!!

own this game since the day it was released originally though :)
Is Easy difficulty also really hardcore? I am interested in the story aspect but I don't want to spend hours upon hours dying because 10th level still doesn't give me an advantange towards fighting a rat.
got it, wasnt overly impressed by it either, maybe im just getting to be too picky with games
Is there no big birthday promo this week? :-(
Do they still allow you get a Steam key if you show proof of purchase?
That was nice of them when they got on Steam.

I don't remember too well but I think I've played on normal, and it wasn't too hard... The hardest part was the need to buy TONS of health/mana/stamina bottles before every bigger fight, as they just disappeared like fog over a pot (wink wink) - but the bottles weren't even that expensive so the only thing that bothered me there was no auto-buy of those...

I see, it sounds okay. Thanks, Kunovski :).

The game is really tough. For example it lets you do some sidequests in a local graveyard like very early on but one of the quests actually requires you to kill a quite nasty vampire thingie that overpowers you instantly if you haven't leveled up a little yet. Sometimes you just don't know what you're getting into so you always have to be ready for the worst and you always have to be ready to run away and come back later.
Nice game and promo.
Well, I haven't finished the first act, spent more than 20 h with that game, loved the music and atmosphere and even enjoyed heaps of reading and additional short story in pdf. The game is definitely worth $10 even when you play it for just a bit. The game is not easy, because no matter what character you play you need to be ready to face some way much stronger opponents - so you need extra potions and extra spells or scrolls. The game is enjoyable, but it's so long if you want to do all the side quests and discover all the hidden passages in dungeons. I'm happy it's on promo by itself finally. It's an unpolished gem for sure.
Hopefully they will get this game patched up soon too
I would be more interested in this if I hadn't already bought it. :)
It appears to be a great game, which is quietly waiting its turn on my backlog.

But come on GOG, your anniversary celebration this week is much slower than the first week's. Here's to hoping that'll change soon (tho even if we do not have a nice week-long promo at least people got happy with yesterday's release).
What happened to the five weeks of celebrating five years of gog?
