Get Guacamelee.

Just make sure you can stomach some excessive and unsubtle referential humour.
And the usual question about December promos. Do I get it now or wait for the Christmas Sale? Decisions, decisions...

I'm thinking of it. Is Guacamelee really good? It looks a bit strange.

I'm going to buy it as a gift for a friend, but I'm not sure if I sould buy a second copy for me, too.

Well I have set myself a £40 / $60 limit for games over the "Holiday" period. HB, IR and Groupees are making it easy to hold on to my money.
Yet GamersGate and GOG have both started with deals I just cannot pass on, I am already £11 / $20 less for the actual holiday sales.

It's good, the only other main gripe I have is the recovery time from being hit.
Anyone has tried Guacamelee! in co-op? Can you share your impressions?

It's a really good Metroidvania-style game that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone interested in those type of games. That said, if you don't have a controller then you might should give it a pass. Special attacks like the throws are designed in such a way that you really need an analog stick to properly aim them.

I played with Judas, and we had a lot of fun. We used two X360 controllers and my semi-decent work laptop plugged into external display. It worked like a charm, and the gameplay was exciting and smooth. And with extra added crazy humor we both enjoy :-)

We didn't have the chance to play through the whole thing, but we really enjoyed the part we managed to complete.
Lovely promo.
Oh backlog, my backlog, why must you trouble me so?
Why must I face the same battle every week?
The horrid clash between want it and don't need it?
Oh backlog, my cruel backlog.
I wonder if this is in any way related to it (Guac) being free on PSN this month.

Thank you Austrobogulator and Raven28256 for your replies.

I've already bought and sent the gift code.

As for me, I have an XBOX 360 controller (actually I have 3 of them and an XBOX 360 console too). I haven't desided yet, but it looks like it worths buying a second copy in the end.
Nice promo, hope it sells well.
I got both of these when they first came here and really liked them a lot. Afterwards whenever I occasionally check how games I like are selling on Gog compared to the rest, it always saddens me to these two right at the bottom. Make me happy and buy the games people! :)
