Welcome to relativity!

FEZ, an original and surprisingly deep perspective-twisting puzzle-platformer with an huge open world full of secret areas for you to explore, is available 50% off on GOG.com for Windows and Mac OS X. That's only $4.99 for the next 24 hours!

FEZ is a puzzle-platformer like no other. First of all, its gameplay mechanics come with a perspective-changing twist, that make every stage of the game not one, but four 2D landscapes. You'll have to use that to your advantage and figure out how to make seemingly impossible jumps. That's just scratching the surface, though. There's no telling just how many complex and original puzzles have been hidden in the world of FEZ. That might be the first game in quite some time, that will make you take notes while you play, so you can crack some of the game's secrets and understand its strange languages. There's so many layers and levels to the world you'll be exploring, that you probably won't see the half of it at your first play-through! Pair that with incredibly diverse level-design, and charming pixel-art (ummm... sorry, trixel-art) graphics, and what you get is one of the most remarkable titles of our time. Be sure not to miss it!

Get cracking at some of the most ingenious puzzles in platformer history, in the
mind-and-matter-bending gem of a game, FEZ, for only $4.99 on GOG.com. Don't wait, because the 50% off discount offer lasts only until Thursday, October 17, at 9:59AM. That's also the final promo you can match with our special offer that grants you a FREE copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition with your every purchase.
Nice promo.
Not sure too many people will pick this up given that it was in the last HIB.

I am looking forward to playing it sometime though.

Or the attitude from the guy who made it. Then again it might be reason for some to just buy it now.

I just keep reading and reading about the maker being an asshole, what's the problem with him?

I readed time ago a commentary where he was saying programming for PC was very difficult in comparison to consoles due to the hundred of different types of PCs. The fact is I think he's not wrong, and I'm saying this as a 100% PC player who dislikes consoles, but a fact is a fact, it is more easy to adapt your game to a closed platform than to a open one.

It's more about the (bad) words he used (on Twitter), and i believe also his unwilling to fix the bugs.
Here it is has been discussed too already;
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_fez/ , also

Regardless it seems like a really nice game though.

"9$ for a game like FEZ is a STEAL. i should be charging you 90$ you fucking ingrates."
– Phil Fish being his lovely, endearing self

So I'd rather not buy FEZ for $4.99 lest he be very angry with me...
Phil Fish is someone I tend to sympathise with, cause he seems to have a good heart. He's just also got one hell of a foul temper, though, and apparently he never thought of hiring a PR guy to be his mouthpiece. Passion can lead to some pretty destructive behaviour.

But, with that said, this game is totally worth the five bucks. One of the best platformers I've ever played. So I'd urge anyone interested to just grab it, even if the whole Fish breakdown rubs them the wrong way...
Wow, what a character...
Fez is a pretty awesome game.

i had already got it with a 50% off thanks to an awesome coupon hook up from triock. (thanks again!)

im only about halfway through it, and the space bending aspect of it is great.
i managed to bend space in a room and fell out of the bounds of the room, while hunting for secrets ^_^

definitely worth the $5.
quite the steal.
id risk the anger waves, high likelihood of remaining unscathed.

---
i thought he had just canceled Fez2 not quit the industry entirely.

hopefully hes just on vacation and working on a game and will release it when hes finished instead of feeding the trolls and slowing down the process.

even reading through some of the threads i dont see where it went off too badly.
(i didnt watch Indie: Game the movie, but have it in the humble account for dl. but after that text excerpt of the 'freakout' i think it might be entertaining. )

there were a couple points where his 'bad words' might be frowned on, but its seemingly been no worse than many of the fallouts on the forums here (and definitely no worse than elsewhere).
nor anything worse than id probably say.

Randalator: "9$ for a game like FEZ is a STEAL.
And it is. While not quite $90, I could easily see myself paying $15 or even $20 for it now that I've actually played it and formed my own opinion on the game (since the bundle had ended at that time and percentages cannot be changed, I at least bought another copy, full-price, here on GOG).

The game certainly looks interesting according to the video and pictures, however I keep seeing such bad references to the creator, and I keep finding them. Seems like he was ungrateful vampiric prick trying to prey on the system to make quick and easy money only to be fighting with the M$ giant. Naturally changing his views much like M$ is currently changing it's policies so he can try for more money. 'PC's are for spreadsheets' and 'let's release it on PC, those suckers will buy anything'.

Games may have a spirit and a soul, and you can disqualify anything from being bought for being in a particular type of criteria, be it having some type of copy-protection (DVD's), DRM, or even a brand or author. Now I'm stuck curious of trying this out, but I'm not sure I'd want to support him.

Likely ranting about M$ and their crappy policies gives him points, but everything else leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Friendly warning: if you're not into cryptic stuff, don't bother. Game is beautiful, but I expected indie platforming, not indie decyphering game.

LOL Just found this
"Game breaking bugs at the start of the game, lazy port, arrogant asshole developer. This should have been given for free on the PC as an apology from him"

Are the game's realy bad port?
