About a year ago I though Minecraft was awesome. I just fired it up, tried to play, and was like "meh."

Hate it when that happens...
Minecraft for me is a game where I play only it for like a month, and then get really bored and don't play at all for three months. That being said, my heyday was back around the Halloween update. I started permanently losing interest when they started adding more RPG elements and that terrible ending. It's still fun to fire it up now and again to see what's been added, though.

Maybe it just isn't really your cup of tea?
i tried so hard to like that game but in the end it wasnt fun
Play it with Technic Pack. Makes the game a lot more fun.
I thought it was "meh" the very 1st time I played it. The only good thing about minecraft is that without it, this game probably wouldn't exist : http://wollay.blogspot.fr/
I only managed about 2-3 minutes before I saw the repetativeness of it and was done. It could be addicting and fun, but I just felt "time sink" more than other games.

Nowadays I mainly play games with my 8 year old. Occasionally, when feeling particularily nostolgic, I'll fire up an old game and get the same thing you had happen. It's a bummer when that happens.

Funny, that's basically what happened with me. Same time frame, even. I love love LOVE the whole idea behind the game. What I don't like is how it's evolved. Not only is it really focused on the creative aspect (which I find a little empty and pointless, since I could just go create something "real" with the same amount of effort), it's also kinda become a huge blob of content, rather than having complex gameplay emerge out of a few deep concepts or mechanics. It's a personal complaint, but it keeps me from fully enjoying the game, even with the endless exploration and survival elements.

I found Terarria more fun, although it got boring after awhile as well.
Minecraft peaked with 1.7.3 and I've been losing interest in it since.
I never played minecraft. I liked Terraria, however.

This and even more fun in multiplayer, at least with people you know.

However, Terraria is more my kind of game. Adventure/Sandbox is a great mix.
Never played it, and don't fell like I should :)

I only installed my purchased copy for my 7 years old nephew . He loves it .
I have never played Minecraft. I find the game too over priced for what it is.
