How well do you know GOG.com?

GOG.com 5th birthday celebration continues, and we came up with some fun activities essential to every nerd party in the universe. Namely, we want to play some trivia with you! There will be prizes, of course, because there have to be gifts in a birthday celebration. Since it is our party, you get to keep the gifts! We wouldn't have it any other way. But, just to make it more fun, you'll have to put some effort into getting them. For the next couple of days (let's say: until Sunday), we'll post a daily activity for you. A quiz, a puzzle, some trivia--you know: fun stuff. Each day you'll get a chance to prove your gaming knowledge and familiarity with GOG.com for a chance to get some free games. Our activity of choice today: a GOG.com useless knowledge quiz, brought to you by Pictie the Unhappy, our very own media representative!

Stuck at 3, 6 and 13 :/
I likely made a mistake, usually do but at least I was able to figure out 9 of 14 without google.

Anyone that was able to figure out all without google? :D

sibberke: I sent them half an hour or so ago, but only now noticed there was a specific format, so I resent them. Will this affect me in a bad way?
avatar
triock: Nope, read the full sentence - ...this is just an example!...

edit: I mean this sentence - Send your answers (in the format 1:a, 2:b, 3:a, etc.--this is just an example!) to contest@gog.com with the subject QUIZ.
I read it as that at first, but then I thought: "Means 'this is just an example' that the answers are just an example, and the format isn't?" Could a blue one give a bit more information?

Btw, probably you are right (such an important thing would be at the top, not the bottom), but the less confusion, the better.

Licurg: Stuck at 3, 6 and 13 :/
Google is your friend, trust me.
avatar
Arthandas: I pity people who're saying the first question is the hardest.
avatar
Licurg: The fun part is you can actually google all those things :P "How many hours in 5 years" and so forth .
The problem comes when you figure it out from the actual date to today...none of those answers work at that point.
Just sent mine, but looking at my answers I'm pretty sure I'm not right on all of them.
Well, sent, but with a guess at 1 because none truly fit considering today's date and 2 are almost equal, marginal difference, then also at 6 because... seriously, what? don't see that detail anywhere, then at 10 going with the release of the first games themselves, not the dates listed for the bundles here...

Uh well, just for fun, I already got a prize on the first one anyway :)
Bah, I give up :/ Gonna go drink now .
Sent!

I don't want to spoil the answers but consider this, if an aswer isn't exactly correct (mathematically) then pick the one that you think is closest to what the answer should be like, that usually work with quizzes and tests.

Also, some questions could be thought of as riddles instead. ;)
I have a problem with question 2. My research gave this info:

Originally, the closed beta was supposed to launch on a date that matches one of the three answers.

However, the closed beta was delayed and actually launched at a later date, that lies *between* two of the answers.

Are we supposed to ignore the launch delay?

Edit: After a more thorough research that I didn't get the date wrong, I will just put in the answer with the date that was originally planned.

Sent mine, then sent it again once I saw that we had to send it in a specific format. I have doubts that I got mine in on time (if the answers are even correct that is), but... again... we'll see...
I forgot to put it in the right format so I had to resend.

Senteria: I noticed that with question 1, 1.578e+8 seconds <- What on earth is that? I have no idea what E stands for and how to calculate. Thus I can't answer that question.
Ah, that's just another form of scientific notation. (You can probably see a lot of calculators still using this, since they often can't display superscripts exponents.) That would be the equivalent of 1.578 x 10^8 seconds.

I just figured it out. None of the answers in the first question are entirely correct though.
