Everything seemed fine in GOGville. Everyone was happily playing games and rejoicing in this DRM-free town. This day is different, though, as this morning morning the Town Mayor was found brutally murdered!
You soon decided on the best course of action, and decided no one would leave the town until the murderer is caught and dealt with. You all gather at the meeting hall and will not leave until some decision is made.

Rules – Stolen directly from Zchinque.

1. The moderator for the game is me, Vitek. Should you need to contact me, you can reach me through the PM system of this forum.

2. All players have a vote, which they may give to any player. A vote may be withdrawn by unvoting. Once a player has more than 50% of the votes, that player will be lynched and the game will go to night. No amount of unvoting can prevent this.

3. A player may also vote nolynch. A majority of nolynch votes will end the day without a lynch.

4. Please remember to bold your votes and unvotes like this: Unvote FrenchMonk, vote TheEnigmaticT.

5. When you are dead, you are dead - stop posting. A single "bah"-post is permissible and encouraged.

6. Don't edit your posts! This is very important! Editing a post is grounds for being modkilled. Due to the forum software I must also ask you not to double post. Two consecutive posts of the same user in a short time frame will merge, creating the appearance of an edited post. The time limit after which this stops happening seems to be 10 minutes, but you might want to err on the side of caution.

7. Please bold any requests for votecounts or questions to the moderator.

8. Do not discuss the game with anyone outside the thread, except for people specified in your role PM, and then only at such times as the PM specifies.

9. Do not quote or paraphrase too closely any PMs you receive from the mod. If you are afraid that your paraphrasing is too close, contact me and I'll take a look at it.

10. All players should post at least once every 36 hours. If you expect to be away for more than 36 hours, please let me know either through PM or in the game thread. Failure to do this will result in me sending you a prod via PM and in thread to which you will have 24 hours to respond.

11. If you can no longer participate in the game, let me know and I will try to find a replacement.

12. All players on the winning team win, even if they are dead. Players who are modkilled or has replaced out will automatically lose the game.

13. Some roles have been randomly assigned. Rest of players are vanilla townies. ;-)

14. You may not post in the game thread during night phases.

15. Remember it’s just a game. Be polite and remain calm.

16. This is not a rule but polite request to more experienced players. Please try to help people that seem to need it and don't only play for win but more importantly in way for everyone to have fun. Your behaviour may help to shape opinion of new players of this game and encourage them to join next games. Link to mafiascum containing advices for experienced players in newbie games.

The sun finally managed to defeat darkness of night and day has finally started.

It is Day 1 now.

Nobody is voting yet.

Walking along humming a happy tune as he looks for people to buy him more games and threads to necro, GR sees something interesting.......what appears to be the body of one of the more higher up goggites torn up in a most savage fashion, hidden behind some old game request threads......picking up a stick, GR pokes the deceased forum goer before exclaiming "Guess he's all dead, and not just mostly dead...." "Let's see what kinda loose change he's carrying, oh and this rep looks nice.....and that watch"

Picking up whatever he could carry and stuffing it in his pockets, GR waits for others to show up and tell him what they should all do about this connundrum as he takes out a stick of flavorlicious gum and chews away.

Only someone with a lot of experience with the dead would be able to tell the difference between all-dead and mostly-dead after such a short investigation and the subsequent theft is hardly the hallmark of morals that GOGville is renowned for. In light of this (and to get the discussion going):

Pah, pathetic mortals! Pah to your RVS. Here, I will sit all high and mighty above the O so petty disputes of the RVS, to mock and point and maybe make some funny faces.

But I can still, say, FoS: Xyem because... hey are you pushing a wagon by yourself there sir that does not seem a right and proper thing at all you are silly why would you even try that.

For the benefit of new players, as this is designated a newbie game....

FoS = Finger of Suspicion. A term used to point out you suspect someone of being scummy and Mafia, but don't want to go so far as to vote, maybe because it pushes them to Lynch, or you maybe have a solid vote on someone else...

Vote Ghost for using terms that might confuse newbies right from the start....;o)

Bah, piddle, and pish-posh....I say it is the crazed ones who are the rational ones here. To be sane and calm after seeing such a thing happen can only make one look scummy in mine eyes. FoS Robbeasy for voting Ghost, who seems to be the only level headed & aptly scatterbrained one around here.

I was (as I said), trying to get things going. This is my first game, so I didn't know doing that would be regarded as suspicious, sorry.

Well. Do we have three secret members of the mafia in this game? So as it stands most of us have a just over one in three chance of picking the bad guy out of the crowd with no inclination or evidence...

At this point I make a wild prediction that the guilty party is Zchinique, Robbeasy and Ovoon.

It would be cool if I'm right but no basis for an attempt on their life. At this stage.

Maybe I am suspicious of my long time next door neighbour Xyem, as you have so speedily relented under the wind's caress of fear of suspicion. If you aren't a murderer you may well have your will broken by mafia techniques and become a patsy for the army of evil! (can this happen?)
