amok: But there were only 4 'real' scum in the game, kill the 4 evil Goraks and the game would have ended (or that is how I understood the win conditions)
No?
"EVIL CONDITION REQUIRED TO WIN:
The number of surviving evil players must be more than or equal to the number of non-swayed players. "

"GOOD CONDITION REQUIRED TO WIN:
You must wipe out those who have already been swayed by the spreading evil. "

Hmm. Maybe, yes. Good thing we took you out first then :)

Vitek: And what were they doing what my yellow box did? (btw. not be able to tell about it to others because it doesn't seem important was bit weird while we had also shared yellow messages)
The box was nothing, just a voting process of sorts, I didn't want it to be tainted. The messages were sent depending on whether the majority within the group decided to open, burn, ignore.
The only people that didn't vote are the infiltrators in all groups.

I'll give you the details soon, working on the night actions.

The final Day layout means we, Zyphans, who were confirmed to each other, had 6 players to choose from, 4 of them were baddies and we managed to choose town. :-/

Did you know that you were not infiltrated?

Edit - yes I see the race PM. Good thing, as the next thing to do was try to make out that the final scrum would be your infiltrator...

ACTIONS (I have no night-action flavor for anything that came before I took over, except for my own actions, of course. If you have them, share them):

NIGHT 1
DarkoD13 investigates Teika
CSPVG claims he'll do the NK (DarkoD13), doesn't go through with it

NIGHT 2
a) Scum (Robbeasy?) NK DarkoD13
b) DarkoD13 investigates Vitek, failed
"You arise from your bed to go investigate, but while sneaking towards Vitek's sleeping quarters you are attacked and killed.

You are now a ghoul, and can post in the Elroi quicktopic at any time, day or night: http://www.quicktopic.com/50/H/M6ynt2uVaxW

You may answer any questions you are asked, or theorize to your heart's content. "

NIGHT 3
a) RWarehall investigates TwilightBard, wants to fake the result, can't (under AFP's suggestion)
b) Amok NKs Red_Baron
Amok's flavor
"You've only been following Red_Baron for a few minutes until you see him enter a dark corridor. He couldn't have made it easier for you. You were born in the darkness. You resist the urge to use your claws on him as you're afraid that might expose your race's true colors to the Assembly.
You grab your heat dagger and approach him from behind, quickly stabbing him in the throat for a stealth kill. You're surprised that he still manages to let out that horrible scream, but that doesn't stop you. You push your dagger downwards to seal the deal and quickly run away before you are spotted. "
RB's flavor:
"Without a care in the world, you walk into a dark corridor. Suddenly, you feel a sharp pain in your throat and barely manage to let out a scream before everything goes black.
You have been nightkilled. You are now a ghoul and can post in the Elroidan quicktopic.
http://www.quicktopic.com/50/H/M6ynt2uVaxW"

NIGHT 4
Amok NKs Krypsyn
Amok's flavor:
"You've never felt this way before. Sure, you did some things during the Day of the Cleansing. But this is different. This is a hunt. Ever since you found His Light, you've had a hole inside you. And this, this actually makes you whole again.
You follow Krypsyn to the Assembly Hall. You sneak up behind him. All of a sudden, he turns around. Decisively, you rip his throat out with your bare hands. Did you do it to keep him quiet? Or do you not care about being discovered anymore?
It hardly matters. They will all see His Light soon enough. "
Krypsyn's flavor:
"You have the strange feeling you have forgotten to do something important tonight. Maybe a walk will help clear your head and you'll remember that very important thing you have forgotten to do? Maybe. It sure would be nice to check out the Assembly Hall. You've always wanted to see what it would be like there at night. The view must be amazing.
And indeed it is. And then you realize what you've forgotten. The investigation! You have to hurry, maybe there's still time. But as you turn around, all you can see are those eyes. Those evil eyes you'll never forget. Then that feeling of numbness comes. You can't speak. You just close your eyes...

You have been nightkilled. You are now a ghoul and can post in the Elroidan quicktopic.
http://www.quicktopic.com/50/H/M6ynt2uVaxW"

NIGHT 5
Amoks NKs Vitek
"Vitek hasn't left his room all night. You'll have to pay him a visit there. But you don't realy care. In fact, you can't stop smiling. The end is so close, you can feel it. You enter Vitek's room and close the door behind you. You'll take your time. The Master will be pleased. "

Thank you for those flavour posts, very enjoyable
On Day 4, everyone but the infiltrators got a variation of this:
Suddenly, you get the mental image of a big yellow box. You don't consider this important enought to mention to anyone else, but it doesn't seem like it's going away. What's your first thought about the box?
1) Open it
2) Burn it
3) Ignore it

Flub opened-SENT
Amok opened, Robbeasy burnt, Random.org opened-SENT
Vitek opened, JMich burnt, Telika burnt-BURNT, but for a tiny part
Krypsyn opened-NOT SENT since he got NKed

Messages:
To Elroi
"If you can't turn your head and face the sun, can you even be sure of its color?"
It was supposed to indicate that the Elroi, who can't talk to each other, are infiltrated, but failed completely

To Gorak
"To know the sound of one's mind is to know their true colors."
Meant to indicate that the Zyrphan know each other's affiliation

To Zyrphan
"He who has stared at the abyss, yet remained pure of heart, will only be free in death."
Indicating CSPVG's role

Flavor PM sent to CSPVG after the restriction:
It was little things at first. Mentions of a missing object here, a small injury there. Nothing to worry about, you convinced yourself. Just the times changing. And in a sense, you were right. The things you saw that dreadful day. The Day of the Cleansing they called it. It was a massacre. Goraks murdered by fellow Goraks. But why? Who's pulling their strings? And how were you spared? Do they think you're one of them?
You hear whispers of a darkness deep inside your land. You must stay close to them and find out more. You've been picked by your leaders to participate in the Assembly of the Races. You know what's going to happen there. But you can't tell anyone what you know. What will happen to your family if you lose this fight? You can't allow the Corrupted to use them to get revenge on you. No, you can't see yourself betraying them like that, not for as long as you live.

I think that's all. Oh and the ball of yellow and green from near P1na's seat was meant as a joke. Pineapple, see? Yeah, that didn't work.

Thanks for it :) A truly odd setup I gotta say and a darn job to moderate. Thanks for finishing this Darko and to AFP for trying something new and starting this. I had fun, though mostly in the quicktopics (both terran and dead) :P.

I got one too, on Day 4. Been mighty curious about it.

avatar
Vitek: Yeah, town inflitrated in mafia is not really viable exactly because of this. If CSPVG wanted it could be over after 10 minutes of game.
Yeah, I was figuring, once I learned about it in the Ghoul Thread, that he must have had a "don't mention it" type exclusion like we had with the box. If he didn't, then color me confused why he didn't just out all the scum as soon as he could post?

-----

All in all, I think it was a pretty scum-heavy game. I was assuming 5 scum max (and even that I thought would be a little high, given the infiltrators), and it did do wonky things to my analysis at times. The thought of 6 or 7 (depending if you count CSPVG) scum exist just never entered my mind as even within the realm of possibility. Oh well, you know what they say about assumptions.

It is funny. I was really good at ferreting out scum while I was alive, however once I died, I really did poorly. Sorry, Vitek :P. Good job, Scum. :/

He probably didn't want to end the game that soon.

Yeah, or maybe he thought it would be too WIFOMy. I mean, seriously, had someone come out and said "I am scum, and so are these other 6 guys!" at the start of a 17 player game, I would have thought he was lying. He would have been lynched, been shown to be evil (without a role-reveal as a double-agent), and then most of the town would have discounted that ANY of the people he named were scum at all!

Dang, thinking about it, it is really an awful position to be in. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Yikes, CSPVG, bad draw.

Krypsyn: He would have been lynched, been shown to be evil (without a role-reveal as a double-agent)
I don't think that would have been the case. The way I understand it is that CSPVG would have been revealed as Gorak Town upon death, just like the evil infiltrators are revealed when they get killed. Otherwise the mod would be lying in a way. I haven't seen a spy role in action though, you could be right.

I did ask AFP about his role, since I found it weird and I was told he had the standard town win condition, but AFP believed that no one would believe him if he revealed the scum team. I was given permission to add a restriction as I saw fit though.

I had assumed there was a post restriction where he couldn't say because that's what I would have done. And yeah, I would have also have been the asshole the came out and said everything. Also, CSPVG really went overboard on his block claim, it was pretty much a big light to me that said 'Keep an eye on him!'...I just tried requesting confirmation from my fellows and didn't get it in time when Darko started the day and I got lynched.

We patched a lot together that first long night, minus the Zryphan power, so that's why I was pushing the Telika thing, but I'm still amazed that no Terran thought it was odd that there was another investigative role when there were already a race of cops.

LOL no wonder Vitek didn't turn on JMich with my delicious dying tease! I was hoping to get the Zryfs to turn on each other but see now that was going no where ;)

And well played CSPVG - until the end I really thought the Zryf were a defender class as much (probably more!) as I suspected you on that first failed night kill. And good thing we got to Darko early - that is one mean power you had there!

To this moment, I STILL swear there is a cult involving RWarehall and Krypsyn - how the heck were you defending Warehall to the last! I so thought you were trying to squeeze information out of people by "pretending" to trust Warehall...

*edit* Oh and Flub figuring out kipper was scum in the "dead thread" was priceless - awesome catch... too bad back in the world of the living town was about to do our scum work for us.
