We have joined forces with [url=http://www.noobtoob.com]NoobToob a weekly, independent, gaming podcast and organized a video review contest. Here's what you do: you are tasked to create a 60 second review (or a little longer, if you need to) of one of the games offered at GOG.com. Record your review and post it in this thread. After two weeks, we will select which 5 videos win free games from GOG.com's catalogue. Send in your best quality reviews of the games on GOG.com, and hopefully you'll be selected to win a free game!
This is a great idea, and I'll definitely do something for it. The only trouble is WHICH game, there are so many. I'm assuming one entry per person?
I'm feeling creative, have to see what I can do in the time allotted.
Mine is done. ^___^
My microphone is sadly none-working atm. If I wrote the review and edited it myself, would it be acceptable if I got someone else to do the voice-over?

Even if it is, just do some in a series of wacky disguises, it'll make them more entertaining.
Shame I'm not in the mood to piss about trying to figure out how to use youtube, I'd be tempted to enter. Then again I might just be rubbing my nipples and saying how much I love In Cold Blood so it's probably for the best I don't

You should use the windows narrator! Add a line about you having to disguise your identity

Question: are we permitted to use footage from the games or do they have to be those lame videos where we shot our ugly mug breaking the fourth wall for a minute?

Oh go on. But eh, keep it to yourself haha.

That would make the review very poor ;)

I've already seen two reviews with in-game footage. So I guess it's allowed.
What does everybody use for capturing? I tried CamStudio, but it sometimes captures while a frame is still being drawn, resulting in untextured or otherwise corrupt images. Fraps probably does work, but is unbelievably expensive for such a task. WeGame looks like an alternative, but I couldn't get it to start recording.

Have you tried Xfire?? It has it's own capturing program. I am not sure how well it would work with much older games (like WaxWorks) but it should work fine on year 2000 + games.
If I only had a video camera...
DOSBox has video capture built in.
So for DOSBox based games it should be no problem.
I assume this means we need to have video of the game in motion and voice, but don't neccessairly need to have video of ourselves? (IE Gametrailers reviews compared to gamespots).
Because I could do the first since I have a mic, but not the ladder since I have no video camera.
Wow, this is seriously the most user friendly merchant site I've ever been on.
