Thought some of you people might be interested that a truly massive version of the Fallout 2 Restoration Project has been released over at NMA. This is the first new version of the RP is quite a few years I believe, and all credit goes to Killap and the other awesome modders on NMA.

For those not aware of the project, the RP was an attempt to Fallout 2 modders to "restore" all the cut content from Fallout 2. F2 was released only a year after Fallout 1, and had an extremely rushed development cycle, the game was simply huge but was extremely buggy. Since then Killap's unofficial patch has fixed over a thousand bugs (!) and the RP has restored all the cut areas, dialogue nodes and quests. The RP project also contains a myriad of fan-made content which you can choose to install (or not) when installing the RP.

Thx for the heads-up. :) Downloading now.
Thanks and +1 for the heads-up. I'll check it. :)
Thanks for the info - I'm planning to play Fallout 2 for the first time.

How I envy you... Be on the look out for the Gauss pistol - best gun in the game imo, or at least
the one that sounds the best... PTThtteewww!!! followed by GGRRXCCCCHTTH!!! and a massive
gaping wound
excellent, bookmarked!
Great, thanks for the advice! Looking into to see what´s new from the last version. I was about to start a new run on F2 (maybe the 10th, I lost the count) and that came at a good time!
Oh and if any has a problem in which the music doesn't work (you'll notice in the main menu there's no music) message me and I'll tell you how to fix it. GOG's version seems to muck up music paths
You should also post this on the Fallout boards. It has a high chance of being seen by someone needing this sometime in the future than here on the general forums. Either way, thanks for the notice, I'll definitely use it when I'll play Fallout 2 again.
cool : 2.) vast improvements to caravan runs.

That was the only thing that would always bug out for me at some point, even in 2.1. Wonder if he finally managed it now.

I almost beaten Fallout 2, only to find that I lost a key/quest item thats needed to get to the Enclave Oil Rig (Never have quest items like that that you can easily lose it in RPGs :P)

Anyway you say there is cut content in Fallout 2 such as no children NPCs, but I played the game unmodded and there were still children in the games and I saw one (SPOILER)

Got killed brutally by Enclave Soldiers with Gatling Guns, so what gives?
I have F2 but haven't played it yet. Should I go vanilla and then this or just jump into this?

Crosmando did not mention either children or NPCs.

Anyway, they were only cut on from versions for countries where people go out murdering kids as soon as they see it on screen.

We do that here without seeing it on the screen.
