this is absolutely brilliant Datel, thank you so much.
Forcing Microsoft to prove that the PSP, PS2, and Wii have all outsold the Xbox 360, and what not, is a great case. Even if the case gets thrown out at the end, forcing Microsoft to highlight their shortcomings to save their lives, is pretty much one of the best things you can do to a person or company who is so full of shit as they are.

I linked the article, if you cannot be bothered to read, do not bother to comment.
I don't quite see how it's forcing them to highlight their shortcomings. All those consoles outselling the 360 is undisputable fact that has already been highlighted several times over. It's that Datel are trying to claim that MS have a stranglehold on the market by claiming those consoles don't actually count that's the crux of it.
Isn't that kind of a "well, duh" argument? I mean, who doesn't know that the 360 has not sold as well as the Wii and none of them have sold as well as the PS2? Still, it would be fun to watch the court videos of the day that evidence is presented.
Weirdly worded text there, "and even the PlayStation 2" has outsold the 360. Its implying somehow that they had a level playing field and the PS2 wasn't out and selling like crazy for something like 2 years before the ORIGINAL xbox much less the 360 and is 1/3 the price of a 360.
I do hope there's some sort of resolution that lets datel back in the market though, its the only competition that can even vaguely make MS think about lowering thier frankly stupid peripheral prices.
Considering the 360 has a proprietary format for memory cards and that datel were/are making them unofficially, I wonder how thats legal

Datel are skating on thin ice here. Unofficial products by them and others have long been 'tolerated'. But pushing the issue like this might see Microsoft win and Datel and others like 4Gamers may end up having to crap making memory cards specifically for the 360. Nintendo must be looking at this with great interest as they have been looking for any excuse to kill the ram cart business on the DS.
"well duh"
the thing is, those are all pointed out by other people, Microsoft still walks around with this air that THEY are the gaming messiah and that nothing could have possibly done anything as good before they came to the market.
They constantly ignore their roots,

No moreso than any of the other gaming companies. In fact I'd say they're a lot less arrogant than Sony in that regard.

my house is a wii60 house so I don't really follow sony so much. But the Xbox 360 itself owes a lot to the Nintendo 64 and the Dreamcast.
Of course it owes a lot to the DC. Both teams were headed up by the same person. Not sure what point you're trying to make there, really.

ROTFL Nonsense, they're sticking right with their "steal everything and claim it's our own, then sue everyone else" ("Pirates of Silicon Valley" etc.) roots.

And here I thought that was what Sony was doing as well. No, really - how is Sony any different? The level of arrogance seeping from them is no different. Heck, the same can be said from Nintendo as well. As far as I'm concerned all the big players have a similar level of arrogance. Do you remember how Nintendo used to dominate the market in the 80s by employing dirty business tactics? Seriously, this is old news. Atari was just as bad before Nintendo and Sony after them. It seems silly to focus just on Microsoft simply because people love to hate them. Personally, Nintendo has annoyed me a lot more by making the Wii a joke for serious gamers.
Screw Datel. Memory cards aren't terribly important nowadays anyhow. MS probably doesn't want them out there because they can probably find a way to exploit something i.e. old xbox or cheat gamerscores. I guess you can do that without them but whatever.

The 360 and old Xbox have brought a lot to the table though.

Yeah, you can't say the Xbox hasn't been important to the market - they were the only real competitor for Sony. Competition is ALWAYS good - it drives the price of consoles down for starters and also pushes them to add more features for free.
