I'll put it this way. I generally don't care for anime in general. Too much of that eastern culture doesn't really work for me. I don't like people who are always able to do absolutely ridiculous actions. I can't be drawn into something where nothing is believable. Just me.
Cowboy Bebop to me is different. It's got a cool jazzy atmosphere. It's got cool sci-fi, excellent voice acting, and cool storyline. The cast of characters is also excellent.
I don't like anime, but I love Cowboy Bebop.
they were working on a live action Evangelion as well... but i don't know if it's still going on.

Starkrun: You forgot that Leonardo DiCaprio' is remaking Ninja Scroll and Akira ^_^

You're right, I did... intentionally. I blocked it out almost immediately after I first heard about it. Thanks for bringing back that painful memory.

That, I didn't know about. I wish I still didn't know about it.

Yes Evangelion is still a go.... I have faith in Keanu i really think he can pull off Spike i like his acting style and he can do a good performance when hes pushed... Sofar the shows creators are exercising a lot of control over the development... going as far as assisting in the choice for production designer.. and it follows the shows canon well with a few changes that are needed to bring it to live action....
As for Leo, NO.... and WTF for firing Lawrence Kasdan for the script on Robotech... the man is a living legend that stays true to source like it was the holy freaking bible... instead Toby gets some twits that pen for Smallville: Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.... thats a load of crap...

Ghost In The Shell and Battle Angel Alita have been pillaged too.
Also Voltron.

As long as hollywood leave the Ghost In The Shell TV Series alone I'm happy. I like that more than the first movie.
Actually I recommend watching it when you have finished watching Cowboy Bebop and are in withdrawal. :)

[url=http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/11/10/leonardo-dicaprio-wont-star-in-either-akira-or-ninja-scroll/]not. He's a producer for both but won't be starrin in either.
*cry* There is no respect nowadays for masterpieces.
At least its not Uwe Boll making these.... so we should thank god for that...

Gough and Milar are gone now too, Tom Rob Smith is doing it now.
DiCaprio is a very solid actor. I don't know anything about his production company, but I do have a bit of faith based on the way he contributes to movies with his acting skill.
As far as Cowboy Bebop goes, it's amazing. A great show. Evangelion might top it, but I don't know... they're both of such quality that I don't even feel the need to pit them against each other.
You can add me to the list of people who really enjoyed Cowboy Bebop.
My memory of the specifics is kind of vague because it's been a few years since I saw it last, but the music was great, and the characters were fun over-the-top stereotypes.
Most importantly, I was really satisfied with the last episode. It ended well.
Which is more than I can say for any other great anime - Akira and Evangelion, I'm looking at you!
Cowboy Bebop is a great anime, I have the whole series on DVD. It doesn't have an epic storyline or anything, in fact it has almost none at all, since most of the episodes stand on their own each presenting a "mini-story". The feel and atmosphere is what catches you, it's an original production not adapted from manga so the cinematography is just so much better.
For those who like it I can recommend Samurai Champloo, it's made by the same guy and has kind of the same feel, just it's samurais mixed with hip-hop instead of jazz/sci-fi.
For epic story watch Berserk instead, but then you might as well go for the manga directly since the anime adaptation is not that good.

Is Berserk good or not? I own it, and watched the first episode, but was left with this huge blegh feeling.
