Okay, I know chances are GOG is hardly the place to post this, but ive been damn frustrated.

My computer has worked well for years, she is 3-4 years old and rarely stuffs up. but arg.

Yesterday the power went out and it was the trip outside, once I turned it back on everything seemed to work fine, perfectly fine, then I started watching a video on youtube. worked fine at first, but then it completly froze EVERYTHING. We arn't just talking a normal freeze here either, but complete computer halt. I couldnt go ctrl alt del, alt F4, move the mouse, anything. The whole computer was just... stuck. No BSOD, no error messages... arg.

So I restarted the computer thinking it was odd, and went back to videos, where after a bit it froze up again. So naturally, I turned her off, opened her up, and gave her a good clean. Plenty of dust, made sure the ram was still firmly in place... all the normal things, put her back together.

I decided that just to be safe, I would just download the MP3 of the song I was watching the video for, and just not watch the video, chalking it up to a random error with new youtube... So I did so, and it worked fine. But later, I was watching another video (AVI this time, on computer itself) and it did it again! now this is just fucked now, before the power went out I had been watching videos all day, I know it cant be heat since I cleaned her out and it has been cooler then normal here recently....

It happened again when I loaded skype up- the moment the call established and my webcam video came on, FREEZE AGAINNNNNN. By this time, I was getting worried it may be a hardware fault, So ive been running memtest- nothing. The ram is perfect, Checked the PSU fan... still going strong, Quick visual check shows the same for the CPU fan and case fans.

Then I start to wonder if it was a driver that was trying to install itself for a new camera I used ONCE, so I deleted that. Now im even running MalawareBytes, and soon my virus scan because I just cant think of what the hell could be wrong. I havent done any videos (or even games to be safe) since, But im pulling at straws here- nothing I do seems to show anything as broken! Device manager is clean, no bugs, the windows error reporting thing was completely bug free at the time of the crashes, Ive updated my Nvidia Drivers, god. Next thing I feel like doing is taking out my old 512mb 8800 GTS and shoving in my backup 512mb 8800GTS... but, arg. this is crazy.
Fresh Install?
