Shoot 'em ups are one of the most classic game genres in existance. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and flavors. Lately, one of them became overwhelmingly popular. The so called "bullet hell" games, infamous for covering nearly the whole screen with enemy projectiles and having the player navigate frantically to avoid damage. Fun as it may be, this is not how it was done in the good old days. In classic arcade titles it was the other way around--nearly all bullets on the screen were being shot by your craft, bringing fiery destruction to waves upon waves of your foes, and waves upon waves of sheer satisfaction to you.
