Over two million copies of the game were sold, as everybody wanted to see what the new technology can bring to the gaming table. Driven by curiosity, the gamers came to find a uniquely presented horror story with thick atmosphere, creative puzzles, and innovative pre-rendered 3D graphics. The 7th Guest remains a fascinating episode in the history of computer games, so make sure to visit the mad Henry Stauf's mystery mansion yourself!

The 7th Guest pits you against the devious mind of Henry Stauf, the murdering maniac, the power-hungry puppeteer, the master of the mysterious mansion. You will encounter the six spirits of Stauf's guests, doomed for eternity to repeat the fatal night at his haunted house. There must be a way to stop this vicious cycle! There must be a way for the tortured souls to break free! If only someone could challenge Stauf and solve his devious puzzles, there still could be some hope.

Step into the realm of horror, solve the mystery mansion's many devious puzzles, and discover the method to Henry Stauf's madness in The 7th Guest, for only $3.99! The offer lasts until Tuesday, May 14, at 9:59AM GMT.
Good but scary game ;)
Nice promo, thanks GOG!
Anyone know when the next Sierra sale is scheduled for?
Purchased, if for nothing else the nostalgic factor as I remember when this game came out and generated all of the press for CD-ROMs.
Nice offer. :) I aready got the game from last time when it was discounted, and I don't think it has aged particularly well, but it's a part of computer gaming history that shouldn't be missing in any collection.
Hmmm... I still remember when this game was launched. It was such a big hullabaloo way back then. I don't know if the gameplay was up to par though, I think it had a few big bugs here and there. Still, I am sure those have all been ironed out. I do also remember that just as suddenly as this game made it big it was squashed into oblivion (relatively) by the coming of Myst that same year. That one took the cake and ate it too. Hm.

Oh man, I hope they are listening to you. Can't wait for that Leisure Suit Larry Pack to go on sale. Good times, good times...

What a shame it is only the first game. if it was both I would have bought them for sure.guess I will just stick with my CD versions for a bit longer, despite far preferring to have them on here.
Tried to play it; got to the chess puzzle where you have to make the black and white bishops switch position. "To hell with this," says I, and I haven't thought of it since. Yeh, maybe I'm missing out on something spectacular, but there are only so many hours in the day.
I'll be playing this one as soon as I find a good TV show to watch along with it ;)

For the puzzles that have you really stumped, try a walkthrough. I got stuck on the can puzzle, because English is not my native language. This was my first game on CDROM. I still have the original set.
Always wanted to play this, but my 386 wasn't powerful enough to run it! Ha, finally the wait is over! :)
