Good game and tempting...but...GC2. really hope GC2 gets released, would pick it up in a shot. Well...with the expansions...
Wow, it's been a great week so far if your thing is strategy. And if it's not...well, hopefully something different will be coming along this week.
Tempting, but I'm gonna skip this.
I think i might pick this up when I get home, provided i remember of course
I don't need no stinkin' modern GalCiv. I have the OS/2 one!
I also scored this in the summer sale, but I would LOVE to see Galactic Civilizations 2 Ultimate Edition here, as it seems to be even larger in scope.

Great series! :)

deonast: I'd say first except I think the prize giving for has been done. Perhaps there is a prize one day for last (or if you are last does anyone see it?

JMich: I do think I will eventually make such a giveaway. Game to be given away to last post after thread is inactive for more than X hours (24 hours? 2 days?). Would be fun to see how long the giveaway would go on for, and may prevent double bumps.
You never know, if people know the deal before hand it could be the thread that never ends.....................

nijuu: Hmm released in europe 2008 and USA in 2009. 4-5 year old game... $19.99 is a bit steep i guess?

Gaunathor: NWN 2 Complete has the same age and cost, so there is a precedence. However, it ultimately comes to, if GOG thinks that it is a good price.
NWN 2 comes with the three expansion packs, though, so arguably you are getting more content for the same price. (although it may be hard to compare two different genres; if nothing else, mentioning the three expansions in the GOG description creates the illusion of more content).
Well worth it and I'll pick it up at this price as a backup to my physical copy, now just need one for Gal Civ2!

NWN 2 only has two expansions. Mysteries of Westgate is a Adventure Pack (more akin to DLC).

GalCiv 2 also has two expansions. The additional content, that got added via patches, is enough to count as an expansion too. So, base content wise, there is not that big a difference between those two games, in my opinion.
Galactic Civilizations for $4.00 on my payday? Is this a trick to get me to buy stuff?

Well, it worked.

This.
Is it just me or is this game an almost exact replica of Master of Orion 1?

What gives you that impression? o_0

While there some small similarities between those two games, the major areas are, for the most part, completely different (colony management, research, combat, customisation, diplomacy, etc.).

Not to mention that the original GalCiv 1 for OS/2 came out in the same year as MoO 1. Pretty difficult for one game to be a replica of another, when both had been in development at the same time.

I see they have so many similarities it's just questionable that's all Like did they steal each others Idea's?
