El Paso, a typical Wild West town in the southwestern United States near the Mexican border. It is the year 1881. For the last few months, the trains belonging to the famous railroad company, Twinnings & Co have been the target of a whole series of hold-ups and ambushes. The management of the company has decided enough is enough and they have to put an end to the raids. It has offered a reward of $15,000 for anyone who captures the leader of the gang responsible. But no one in and around El Paso has the courage to take on the might of the bandidos, so the outlaws just keep on robbing train after train. Even the local Marshal is keeping well out of it. It’s only when a stranger rides into town that things start to change. Bounty hunter John Cooper pays a visit to the local Twinnings & Co manager offering to end the railroad company’s problems once and for all.

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge share the successful tactical combat mechanics of the Commandos series but present even more challenging difficulty level and a full-blooded spaghetti-western setting. The games deliver a wide variety of scenarios and an impressive number of ways to accomplish each assignment, with the second one giving you even more tactical options with its full 3D environment. If you're up for some real tactical challenge, you can get many hours of satisfying gameplay out of this pair of wild west classics!

Today, you can grab both titles in the Desperados Series for only $4.78. Alternatively, you can get just one with 60% discount instead of 70%. Or, if you already have one in your GOG.com collection, you can get the other, retaining the higher discount rate. Don't wait, because the offer lasts only until Tueasday, October 22, at 9:59AM GMT.

Don't be sad. The occasion of your coming into this world is a happy thing to celebrate. :D
Desperados 1 > Desperados 2

that much is obvious.
I need to try it out one of these days.

I suppose this is true. I should get myself a couple of Desperados games to celebrate... I just can't decide whether to only get the first one or both. RTS isn't my genre and I was absolutely atrocious at Commandos, so I hope I can get better with practice.

I realize this is late but, if it helps any, RTS wasn't really my thing either, but I really enjoyed the first Desporados. It just felt different from anything else I'd played (up to that point), and it made me want to try other RTS games. I've yet to find one that grabbed me the way D1 did though.
