But they let prisoners watch TV don’t they? What’s the differ… what the HELL am I even posting this for? Its a game therefore its evil…
They could at least have the game run by the wardens and force the inmates to play as lawful good!
Hell, I can see some genuine potential in that, at least they could be having a bit of fun whilst being lectured about things they already know
Wow, epic fail of the day?
In my eyes it is the same amount of fail like China's prohibition of Hearts of Iron 2, where Tibet was depicted as an independent province.
on the grounds that they promoted “fantasy role playing..."
... well yeah, that's evil :D
Damn right, cyberpunk or nothing!
Could be interesting to see prisonner's "own 96-page scenario", and see them playing it.
"Go, go berserk! while I invoke my ice dragon to kill this level-10 prison guard... hu... I mean gobelin."
Singer appealed the prison’s decision, but earlier this week 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected his pleas, on the grounds that “punishment is a fundamental aspect of imprisonment”.
Well, this puts to light the fundamental upfuckedness of the US prison system. They just do not understand that the punishment is the act of getting your freedom taken away and being imprisoned itself, not what they do to you after you are imprisoned.
Life inside the prison needs not further the punishment - the punishment is being sent to prison.

Agree with that, but...
What do you do when a prisonner makes a crime inside the prison?

You add the punishment for the crime to his sentence.
Obviously, you need a way to segregate those who are a danger to others - unfortunately just taking every commodity and passtime away from everybody is the easy solution to the above problem.

No, you build a smaller prison inside the bigger prison and put them in there, simple!
Is it only me that remembers when the point of prison was to at least try and reform a criminal rather than just put them in storage in the hopes they'll somehow be different when they get out? Or was all that merely from Batman? That is admittedly where most of my knowledge of the american justice system comes from, that and a list of amusing homonyms for punch sound effects

Fractal prison design, a marvellous idea!
Also, for some reason, the title has made me think about the Soup Nazi.

It's already that in most prisons. There are already special cells for disturbing prisonners, a prison inside the prison.
Yeah but you can't get ay smaller than that. I'm proposing a fabric of the universe threatening infinite recursion type thing
Only one where you can play D&D because I'm not a complete cunt
“punishment is a fundamental aspect of imprisonment”.
err, isn't that other way around? "imprisonment is a fundamental aspect of punishment". I mean court send people to prison as punishment for their crimes. Depriving person their freedom is usually severe punishment at and in it self.
But if you spend your time in prison playing video games, watching tv and playing D&D, then why be in prison in the first place. /dailymail.
They should all watch Cool Hand Luke...

Not really. Other than the fact that prisoners can't leave the prison, most of them lead better lives than a large portion of Americans. They get three square meals a day, cable TV, all the exercise they need, education... some of them even have jobs that they do actually get paid for. If it wasn't for the risk of shower room rape by Bubba, the white supremacist serial killer, I'd want to be in prison.
