My wishlist from Gog-Activision agreement:
- Wizards & Warriors
- Vampire: Redemption
- Vampire: Bloodlines
So, it's Activision then... I was kinda hoping for EA *coughsystemshock2cough* but oh well, Activision also have some great classics. Heck, I might finally buy Vampire Bloodlines after being enjoying it for "free" all this time :D It's such a great game it deserves to be bought
I need some help from a top boff!
Sierra used to have Papyrus Design correct?
But according to wikipedia and cutting a lot of the history out, the rights to Papyrus Design titles went to First.net in 2004.
So would I be correct in assuming that we wouldn't see titles such as Grand Prix Legends, Nascar etc through Activision on GOG?
I'm rubbish at researching things...

Blarg: I would buy them even just to make the point that people still love giant robot games. Seriously, make more, says me. And I never even cared for giant robots much.. But the FASA stuff makes for incredibly good games.

Arkose: Are you aware that a new MechWarrior game is being made? There is no release date yet, but there are sexy trailers and whatnot. It even introduces some new mechanics just to add to the awesomeness.
On the mecha side there is Front Mission Evolved, due Q2 2010, which is coming to the PC this time around.

I saw the first trailer that came out and almost pissed myself with excitement.
I am in no mood to buy a new computer, however, and I bet this game will require one. And my laptop is only a year old with a great vid card. So I'm hoping it can still play without stuttering if you turn some of the graphics down.
And I hope it comes out before the latest Duke Nuke'em comes out. ;)
I'm quite impressed by two things:
1. Activision being on GOG, with all that entails.
2. Not having every game be at the $10 price point.
And to those who suggest not buying this game because it's from Activision, that's the wrong message to send. We should be encouraging Activision to take the reasonable route by buying the good, reasonably priced games and ignoring the mediocre, over-priced ones.

NASCAR would be a non-starter anyway as it has a lot of licensed material. It's probably the same story with Legends. Furthermore, all titles from other developers went with those developers to other publishers. So I doubt Papyrus would be an exception.

Agreed. You're not going to bankrupt them by boycotting their titles here. :D No sense in being naive about these things. Pushing publishers in the right direction is better than pushing them away entirely. It's not like any of them are saints after all. They're all in it for the money. You've just got to show them where the money is at.

Yeah, it's a shame though as it means most sports/racing games have no chance of winding up here.

AkiMatti: Okay, I just peeked at the Activision notable games list in wikipedia and here is my wishlist concerning:
BattleZone!
Interstate '76
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
Battlezone II: Combat Commander
The Dig
Hexen II
Heretic II
Total War series
SiN
And maybe Zork...

Yes...perhaps Return To Zork, Nemeis and Grand Inquisitor! :)

I would love to see the entire Lost Treasures of Infocom 1&2. A lot of those games are canonical textbook definitions of "good old games."

I still have my box sitting here. 3.5 and 5.25 disks and all. The thing weighs a ton with all the books. 20 of the best text games ever.

QFT. Emphatically.
Some people just don't understand that "voting with your wallet" doesn't just mean you boycott the bad, it also means you reward the good. Activision coming to GOG at a reasonable price and apparently with a large number of games (20 different games coming in 15 packages) is a really good thing and needs to be encouraged.
I wanna buy and play both GK and Arcanum right now but my brother changed the administrator password and he doesn't remember what it is. what a jerk
