Glorious news for adventure fans across the globe, as The Artificial Hair Brothers have announced the directors cut release of Zak McKracken : between time and space; an unofficial sequel to the all time classic adventure game "Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders.

I'm like WOOOHOO!!
Excellent news, and free as well. You don't see that very often nowadays.
Cool, too bad that I'll forget about it in couple of weeks and probably won't get around to play it :/
I've always liked Zak.

Thank you. :)
Holy ass! I've been waiting for this for years!
Any point in playig it if I have not played the original?
awesome i grabbed it :( but my gpu is dead dammit i have waited for so long for this english release
Wasn't that freeware game out for a decade already or so? I thought I had downloaded it ages ago but never got to playing it. So what's new in the Director's Cut?

EDIT: Yep, it was first released in 2008. Couldn't find any info on the supposedly new Director's Cut yet.
EDIT: Ok, found it. New version apparantly has enhanced graphics, updated controls, widescreen support and professional voiceovers in German, English and French. Nice.

The original has a very simple story, so I doubt you'd miss out on anything except a few references here and there.

Yeah, I have a backup of the German release but playing an adventure game without understanding dialogs is, well, not so fun :)
It's finally out in English and French as well? That's really good news!

Played the German version years ago and it was by far the best fan-made game I've ever played. Regarding the quality it could have been a commercial game.
Nice, thanks Pirate.
Cheers for the heads up.
Absolutely incredible. +1 for the heads up on this one.

(Mac OS X version is coming soon, I think.)
Thx for the info
