Nah, just play YS 1+2 and then tackle the the rest as you like.

Don't even need to play Ys 1 + 2. Just jump straight into Ys Origin. It's not like you had to read The Silmarillion to enjoy LOTR.

(tbh, I thought that most of the rewriting in Ys Celceta actually made the plot worse >_>)
Yeah I dislike rewrites usually, because they just add more text. I kind of like that style of the old games that have a big epic story where you save the world with just a few lines of dialogue. Even though back then it was just a memory limitation.
