If you are polling updates enough to get rough update times on game versions or if you can grab times from the gogdb changelog you can likely lower the number a bit for instance Spiritfarer was updated the same day for linux/win/mac according to gogdb so the C rather than A in the version number doesn't likely mean much.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that is not the problem - builds have timestamps linked to them returned by the GOG API. The problem is this is hardly an indicator if an installer contains the same game version, as GOG is known to mangle builds quite often. Unless the game is tagged with the same version in both places there's really no way to know other than to own the game and test both installers. The rest is speculation and that is not the point of this thread.

Currently I can get most of what I need to build a manifest entry for a game, without having to resort to using a cookie file.

The two things I cannot currently work out how to get, are filenames for downloads and checksum values.

Is there a command string that can be used to get filenames at least, without the need for using a cookie file?
Perhaps some query using each downlink?

Not that I'm aware of... but you can try asking Yepoleb here, if he's still around. To be honest I never cared much for installer filenames, so I might have simply not looked into it too much.

No worries, and thanks I will give that a try.

Basically I need the filename at least, for file size checking ... and (where applicable) zip file testing.

I'm doing this as an alternate (independent) method to deal with some games, that as you no doubt currently know, are giving problems when it comes to creating a manifest entry with gogcli.exe and gogrepo.py.

The new demo, Card Shark Demo, is one such game.

https://www.gog.com/en/game/card_shark_demo

My aim is to inject my manifest entry into the gogcli manifest, download the game files with gogcli.exe, then where no checksum exists, at least do a file size check (and zip test where applicable), then check installer file integrity with my GOGPlus Download Checker program (uses InnoExtract etc).

These two have more recent versions for the offline installer, so might be good to remove them from the list before they get downgraded.

This one is just named differently but it's definitely the same build."

Thanks for the feedback, but in this case...

They shouldn't be downgraded, the Galaxy builds which are already there, but probably hidden/private should be made public, for the holy GOGBear in the sky's sake...

I'd rather keep it listed until it's corrected - probably during the next release. Discrepancies and oddly named installers for CP2077 is an unfortunate novelty...

It happened before with Tormented Souls as you can see here.
Download changed: Installer, Tormented Souls, Windows, en
Version 1.03 ⇒ 1.02, Size 7.4 GB ⇒ 7.5 GB 2021-11-30
This was just hours after the Galaxy build has been downgraded. xD

Yeah, it's certainly not the only case where this happened, I'm aware of at least a couple more... but I doubt the GOGBears are looking at my list for it :P. It's simply either build system errors or in a few cases legitimate downgrades because of regressions in the latest version.
In GOG trivia today: did you know that GOG has recently added a "NSFW" tag on some games? This goes alongside their new "good old game" tag that they also announced recently.

Tags are all the rage these days, so I'll be keeping track of them as well (for anyone interested).

They're available at the following link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S4xoz3ToDG99suUi3LZa8xhU97d4cXHO/view?usp=sharing

I'll most likely be updating the file monthly or so with the latest data.

P.S.: I'll also keep tracking the usual things, as detailed here.

Agents watching the GOGBear border have spotted an entry titled: "Sirius"... it appears to be an in-development title (or a recently developed title), but online searches are inconclusive. The only Steam title named Sirius appears to be a multiplayer only game from 2015, not exactly a good fit...

If anyone can come up with a theory on what I'm looking at, I'd appreciate it :P.

If it's something news worthy, I'll even ask that person to post their findings here.
