At least twice over the course of the promo (X-Wing and Tie Fighter). I couldn't tell you if it will re-appear or not.

Anyways, they are pretty old and I believe the reduction was GOG's standard fare (50%).

Even if you miss it for this promo, you should see them come on promo again with a similar or better discount in a not so distant future :P.

I've seen Tie at least 3 times.

I wish X-Wing Alliance would.
Dang it.

ive seen one of them once
cant remember which one
was briefly tempted
Well, if any of you get Xwing Alliance I'd suggest checking out this site. www.xwaupgrade.com They've been creating new models for the game for years. And some have created ports of X-wing and Tie-Fighter to Xwing Alliance. But, I believe it requires you have the two games first. Also, a mission editor for all those games can be found here. www.troyed.com/x-wing/DLAlliED.htm

I've got all of them on disk, but I'd prefer to have a digital version of them.

So do I but tweeking them enough to get working on modern systems is too big of a headache. :D I bought Xwing and Tie the day they came out here but then ran out of money so I'm keeping an eye on Alliance for the time being.

Tie-Fighter has appeared only two times and it still has to appear a third time.

X-Wing had appeared three times and it won't appear again, for this sale.
Woohoo! I snagged Tie Fighter. Man that sold quick, no wonder I didn't see Xwing. Now if they would put Xwing Alliance on sale.

When Alliance showed up here, I had a hankering to dig out my old CDs and give them a shot. This site let me get it up and running on Win 7! I only played a few missions (need to go back to it) but between a thread here on GoG (LOL searching "running X-Wing Alliance on Win 7" actually had a top 10 result for a GoG thread!) by either Robbeasy or Cmdr_Flashheart and that site you mentioned I was able to get the thing going, with a pretty high resolution and some nice looking textures to boot.
I use to hangout in their forums during the site's golden years. I'd say that was about 10 years ago. The upgrades they were doing were just blowing my mind and they were cranking out new models left and right. It's slowed down quite a bit, due to the age of the graphics engine. By the way, they did upgrade the models, too, by increasing the poly count.

Maybe Star Citizen will show Disney there is a market for a space sim again. Could you imagine an X-wing series game on the level of Star Citizen? But, for the time being, we've got these classics and maybe we'll see some mods for Star Citizen in the future, that will allow for a Star Wars theme. After all, Battlefront became a game because of a mod.

Does anyone have a spare copy by any chance I could trade/have?

I managed to grab TIE, but XWing has eluded me every time because I have physical needs like sleeping, eating and such. And can't sit and camp the PC 24/7 :(

Xwing and TIE Fighter have appeared 3 times in Insomnia, but the newer 2 games are not part of the promo - probably because they've only been added to the catalogue more recently. It's just speculation on my part but I would say that there is a very high chance that GOG's summer promo that happens sometime around June or so may have a Star Wars or Disney bundle that includes all of these games though. If not, then it'll probably happen in the fall promo later in the year for sure, so if you don't luck out before then just hold out for a few months and there will probably be a wallet emptying promo on to tempt your Star Wars fancy. :)

I totally drool at the thought of a Star Wars based game of the epic scope of Star Citizen which is monetized in a sane way that doesn't attempt to stick a vacuum in one's bank account ongoing. :) I would be shocked if Disney were to attempt to develop such a game though since the genre has been abandoned so long ago by the industry and considered "dead" that it'd be a shock for any big game company to attempt a comeback in the genre. Then again, the response Star Citizen has gotten to date of raising over 70 million dollars in crowd funding and the game isn't even released yet, could very well wake up some studio out there to the possibility. The question is whether they could get the raw talent together to pull it off unhindered by suit wearing executives and bean counters. That's where Star Citizen has the edge IMHO, they scooped up all of the space combat sim developers out there under one roof more or less and have a strong vision and passion driving them.

Still, I'd love to hear of a new Star Wars effort of this nature as unlikely as it'd be to expect. :)

If Star Citizen is as moddable as you suggest then it's almost a guarantee that someone will do it I imagine.
