It makes me angry when people do not carry out their obligations.

It is hard for me to imagine that they did not have time to write several sentences during a weekend so this leads me to sad conclusion those individuals did not play the game at all…

I wouldn't come down too hard on them. Life can be complicated sometimes, so I give them the benefit of the doubt... oh yeah, and set bounties for headhunters to chase and convince them to get back on track :P.
One more copy of the X3:Terran War Pack still awaits its owner...
There's still time to take the battle to the Xenon core sectors...

zeogold: Y'know what? Heck with it. I'll do it. This game is pretty dang far outside my genre, but nobody else seems interested, and the whole journaling thing intrigues me. Sounds like a blast and a nice opportunity for me to get the creative writing juices. Meanwhile, I'll load up the ol' puzzle gun and see if I can haul in one of those with a bounty on their heads.
This will be interesting. :3
One X3:Terran War Pack copy left to be claimed by either a pilot or a bounty hunter. Just don't you all barge in all at once! He :P
A simulator with RTS elements.

Here is something I found out this week: Terran Conflict is easier on the computer than Albion Prelude.
Thanks to zeo for pointing me to this thread.

Sorry again about this whole thing, Winter - the reason I never wrote that diary was because the game never stopped crashing for me! :( My video card turned out to have atrocious driver support from AMD, and X3 is one of the games that suffers from that. I still haven't replaced that card yet. Never go dual GPU, comrades.

I wonder if there's some other way I could make it up to you? Maybe I could pitch another gift code into your giveaway pool or something.

Oh, so it's not just me? Same thing's been happening on my end. Freezes up my whole laptop and I have to reboot the doggone thing every time. I'm not tech-savvy enough to have any clue how to check my video card, unfortunately.
But hey, at least I claimed the bounty and...won? Sort of.

Well, not really :P... I mean, now that we know what prevented you from playing the game, I'll give you an indefinite pass (no more carbonite freezing for you, yey) , but do play the game once you get it sorted, or get a new rig. And there's no need to be sorry about it ;).

It does tend to be rather stressful on your GPU, so if you live in a naturally hot place, you could be in for some trouble, especially if you're playing on a laptop - maybe it's that, or maybe not... to be honest I've never tried to play it on Windows 10, but I can give it a shot and let you know how it goes.

Works fine for me on Windows 10 with a not-so-good GPU. Did not get around to installing Linux on my main system yet. Maybe overheating?

Thanks for letting us know.

I've played AP and TC on a variety of systems along the years, on both ATI/AMD and nVidia cards. To be honest, the only problem I had with it was codecs-related: ffdshow had a tendency to sneak in and render content it was not supposed to and that crashed the game whenever any of the in-game videos were rendered.

Apart from this minor hiccup it was always smooth sailing... well, except in major battles when it turned into a slideshow game, but that was on my old PC (sporting an AGP8x Radeon HD 4650) :P.

It does have a tendency to push your GPU to the top of its capabilities though, so for thermally inefficient systems it may cause lockups or severe fps drops at best (due to thermal throttling).

I know about that slideshow for big battles in systems with lots of 'roids and rocks ;-/ Thankfully there are the PALC mod that lowers its load on the GPU, there is the 'remove rocks (NOT 'roids) mod to help with that problem (less load for the CPU) and several 'plex mods that lower their burden on the computer.

Sure thing, I'll be back here to let you know when I do. Our deal's not finished yet ;) I just don't hang around on these forums any more.
So, since zeogold hasn't had any luck in getting the game running on his hardware (to quote a famous alien philosopher: "S**t happens"), we're still looking for someone eager to destroy his social life and spend hours upon hours building his own space empire and battling the infamous Xenon. Now's your chance to shine.
