trentonlf: Here's the response from one of the men in blue:
Answer Link Coelocanth: Galaxy is still optional. You can DL via the browser, or still using the DLer. As noted, it just won't be updated, but they're not actually blocking people from using it. I believe it was announced in the original GOG Galaxy announcement thread, but I can't find it.
Thanks for the responses guys! It's appreciated, I had no idea. I really thought Galaxy would still mean business as usual here on GOG. That is indeed disappointing and surprising. Galaxy might still be "optional", but from the perspective of an exclusive user of the Downloader it still means I'll likely be forced into changing how I download and interact with the site at some point down the road. Thankfully I have been giving the Galaxy client a shot and I like it so far. It does allow for direct downloads for backups, so I suppose it's a pretty minor issue. Just surprising more than anything. GOG has been like the anti-Steam in a good way, and this move seems very Steam-like to me.
Sorry to derail the OP. FWIW, I had this issue yesterday with the Galaxy client (it's how I found this thread). It wasn't for the Witcher 3, but it was for a handful of other titles I purchased. I simply retried the installation a few times and it eventually took. It sounds like you've already retried at least a few times but I figured I'd mention my experience.
