I know there will be one available on amazon.co.uk just for the physical stuff you would need it to be send to the customer etc. and therefore not on GOG.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Witcher-Wild-Collectors-Edition/dp/B00I9WV4SS/

Will there be a pre-order collectors edition? It sounds like there are limited numbers of this product.

Can we upgrade our pre-order? For those who joined early when there was no talk about collectors editions? How would that work with amazon and GOG?

About how much will it be?

No physical editions of the game on GOG. Question 16 from the Witcher 3 FAQ:

"Can I buy the Collector's Edition on GOG.com?

We only offer the PC Digital Edition, and cannot offer any physical, retail items. This applies to console releases as well. We have a very generous Digital Edition, packed full of goodies, and available with a super-convenient pre-download feature, but if you prefer boxes and DVDs, you should look up physical resellers for versions unavailable here on GOG.com."

Collector edition is RETAIL, not GoG! Which means you are going to send a big part of your payed money over at Namco Bandai's. The company who bashed Witcher devs for making No2 DRM FREE, and withheld 2.000.000 in payment that they should have handed over. Namco Bandai who is close buddies with Steam. That very same Namco Bandai who is Asian (not all asian things are good or beneficial, after all).

GoG edition is like a collector's one, with all the digital goodies, extras and exclusives. With preordering for gog, you get bonus soundtrack pieces, a digital comicbook, Neverwinter Nights for FREE, plus a refund because of gog fair pricing system, depending on your locale. With GoG edition, you miss on all physical goods, like the medallion. But on the other hand, you get other ones like soundtrack and artbook, in digital form.

Worst of all, the retail game, at least for some months after release, won't be redeemable in GoG, unlike the first 2 games, which you could use their retail code to get a GoG copy.

I recommend GoG edition. But try to see the pros and cons of each version, and decide for yourself. Still, keep in mind, if you buy from gog, you also get a serious discount, if you already own the first 2 games.

I said that in the first sentence of my post ;)

So GOG have no control or information about the release of any Collectors Editions via Amazon, even through they have a link on http://buy.thewitcher.com/ ?

And I have answered; GOG has nothing to do with physical editions. GOG's link on buy.thewitcher.com is for the digital version.
The Collectors Edition must have seventeen hours of sex. :D
They should have a SWAG shop here as well... grml

How come? You planning to gift it to a gamer girl or something? :D

Certainly! Obviously! That is why some threads about it have been opened in both here, and CDPR forums, too! Many people would kill (well, not really kill, actually!), for one of those witcher amulets! I am dying for a CAT witcher school one!

They did have official GOG shirts (hoodies and t-shirts) long ago, through a third-party store. I'm not sure they shipped to Europe though, or if it was just insanely expensive... I didn't buy any despite really wanting one.

Hey, that's not a bad idea!
