I'm aware of the "set online status" wish and it has some awesome ideas in the comments, but given how huge the wishlist is I thought it would be a better idea to break it into smaller more manageable and explicit parts.
It'd be easier for GOG to see what users want and it's easier to see a wish than even the best comment if it's buried among so many others.

I think greying-out old chat messages does not help.
They only become harder to read and the user can check the send date to see their "age" anyway.

Ya, i think it wld be gd 2 be able set offline status cos some ppl may not 1 2 appear online 2 others on the forum. I sure hope the blues r reading this thread & do some changes in the near future if poss.

No, that is diff. That will remove all traces including my username then ppl wld not be able search 4 me @ all. Wat i meant or rather need is just a 'set status as Offline' option, hope that makes it clearer.
