I sent a support message to GOG.com asking about if the games on there site will work on new computers.
I know that they don't but game from Steam will work I have couple that will work only if I set it up the way it needed to be setup to get it to work.

I haven't heard back from GOG.com at all for over a Month and I need my question answered.

Do anyone know if Star Wars Battleground will work on computers that run the Intel i7 running a 12 GB of RAM and a 2 GB video card?
GOG.com support is no help at all.

You should be fine! The "game card" (the page here with the game information) even lists both Win 7 and 8 as supported OS platforms. Usually your OS (at least as far as GoG is concerned) is more important than your specs when it comes to older games on GoG.

Let me go check and see if Mac / Linux flavors are supported as well... (those can be a bit more touch and go).

*edit No official Mac / Linux support but as long as you're on Windows you should be fine to play.

Yes, GOG games run on most new computers. Most of them run fine out of the box, some might need some tweaking. There is usually a description of what system the games work on on the right side of the game page.

What's your operating system? Star Wars Battleground Appears to run on Windows XP-8, so you should be fine. However, I haven't had any experience with this game in particular.

On top of that, there is a 30-day money back guarantee. If the game doesn't run, and support doesn't get to run it either, you get refunded.
Hmm if it works on a compatible OS i don't see why not... Likely Windows 7, or i think Ubuntu, or a linux distro with WINE (maybe).

I have yet to get a game from gog that once the installer was done that i needed to do any special configuration to get it to work. DosBox games work well, Windows games worked well, not sure about Linux games since i haven't tested any myself.

So Probably...
The reason I live here is because at a lot of other places they won't work but here it's all good.

Funny thing, the only game I could never get working here was a brand new indy title. :P

Oh and Sacrifice does work. It's supposed to look like that.

Man with specs like these you can even run 2015 releases easily!
It depends on the video card, but even integrated graphics run Battlefront II nicely, I guess

edit: I'm planning to do a "Intel Graphics Card GOGmix"; who's with me?!

Battleground will work on your average calculator. :P
Just need to look at the game page.

Works on:
Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8)

If it works on the latter OSes, then it works on newer computers.

Yup, I told him about Battlefront II :P
Same deal, both games run fine, since the dude has more ram than a NASA machine :P

As others have said, GOG's specialty is making old games work on new systems. You should be fine.

Enjoy the game!

Well Battlefront II is a little different. That can be a bitch for older computers like mine; his should be fine.

They should all work out of the box without any tinkering on your part. Even System Shock 2, which natively is hard to get running on a modern computer.

Depending on the video card, his pc can run like five concomitantly copies Witcher 3 and even, at the same time, grind some coffee :P

Well, it sounds like it runs just fine in Wineskin on Mac. At least that's what he primarily uses these days. I figure if the Mac side has no problems it should also work well with Wine on Linux.
