Of course we're interested. Everyone should remember that they're on the chopping block.
Here is what got me a 2 week stay at "Glorious People's Club Gog".
(btw I find it "funny" they gave me a time out for that, yet have no problems playing politics themselves by seemingly giving in to the c-c-p to delist a game so they could make more money)
Way, way better than i was expecting. So, we know what pisses them off.
They actually sent me a screenshot back then and very explicit reason behind the "leave from GOG".
I said something** about Xinnie the Pooh invading the forums over a game release thread bug....that was about it.
(**= there was messed up text in the release title in asian script, so I made a silly joke about Pooh and Hunney)
(I only mention it as the recent jokes and avatars brought it back to the front of my mind. Btw I still have the screencap they sent if anyone's interested and wants to see it)
They seem very inconsistent in how they interact with the forums. My guess is some staff member had a free minute, stumbled upon your post and thought this would be a good opportunity to enforce the "no politics" rule, while most others constantly get away with it, because there is no time for forum moderation or it isn't a priority. And maybe that staff member already had it in for you because of other reasons?
Seems about right.
(to any staff reading this: I am not questioning mod actions....which I know is a big no no....I am merely giving my opinion on the modding in general)
You know, that in particular drives me mad. The inability to call out hypocrisy, and such. I get mods don't want to deal with drama reagarding a legitimate issue (maybe someone posting a lewd image of a woman who could be 15, or she could be 18, but no one knows, and everyone wants to pick a side and say the other is unreasonable), but you can't generate a power structure that has no accountability and expect BS not to happen. If the primary method of feedback as a customer is provided by the forums, and if the forums have an overwhelmingly totalitarian authority that cannot be questioned, and I'm not reasonably informed prior to making purchases, i think it's reasonable to poke the (pooh, or gog) bear. In the same way i expect GOG to stand up to china, I'll question mod decisions i don't agree with, even if it's against the rules. If i get banned from the forums, then i can go to places gog advertises and point out why i was banned and the moderation decision that i was questioning that resulted in my ban. I have that right as a customer, even if that becomes prefixed with "former."
