From 54 to 48!
A few hours ago I had 54 points, now I see 48.
-6 points?! For what?
Well, have you posted something antagonistic/controversial/stupid or been begging for free games recently?
It happens to all of us.

I couldn't find anything controversial by Google.
To my understanding, the rep points may start decreasing if you start discussing about them in the forum, sometimes they might decrease even if you merely think about them.

The best advice is not to pay any attention to them. After awhile the rep points get bored of your lack of interest, and start copulating => more rep points.

Good point in fact, and I only noticed this because I lack a life :P, the only person who in my few years here I have NEVER once seen lose points or get a low rating is the one guy who I have never seen ever mention rep. Funny thing is he's also one of the most offensive people in here, Licurg. :D

I don't think so. In last 24 hours: Just posted my favorite Mega Drive game, entered a giveaway, posted on "Just Three Words" and...

My last thread/topic is about the new trailer of Hatred. I don't see any flame on there.

A bug in rep system OR it's just fixed and 48 is my real point?

They don't like the game and take it out on you.

Did you post in either:

The GOG Community Gifting Thread

or

Non-GOG Gifting Thread

Because that thread is full of fuckers that purposely derep selected targeted people to give them the low rated notice on their post to scare away any potential gifters thinking the low rated user does not deserve it, to increase the chances of the people derepping to win.
Maybe it was the Korean bots...

Good points. Rep is not so important for me. The only important thing is that I don't want to abuse any rule OR become a careless poster.

People hated your thread about Hatred. DieRuhe's post seems to confirm it.

A guide to rep.

Gaining rep
+1 rep, once per day, for your first post of the day.
+5 rep for posting a solution to a question (thread marked as question, marking your post as solution).
Up to +5(?) rep per day for a high rated post. Multiple high rated posts will still only give up to 5 rep per day, but will continue giving rep until all rep points are assigned.

Losing rep
Up to -5(?) rep per day for a low rated post. Multiple low rated posts will still only give up to -5 rep per day, but will continue subtracting rep until all the rep points are assigned.

The high/low rated post limit may not be 5 but more (or less), but it is possible to gain or lose rep even without you being active in the forum for a few days, due to the daily limit. The GOG community is generally tolerant, but there are some behaviors it's quick to low rate. Like making multiple threads with a link to an external site and then not continuing the discussion in it, since it is seen as advertising. We don't mind discussions on most things (though there are many "controversial" topics), but opening a thread and disappearing is frowned upon. Think of it as being in the local pub, me saying "So, superbowl eh?" and leaving the pub.
Because you're a freakin jerk no doubt. *joking*

I think JMich answers the question perfectly :)
