I'm having technical problems with the gane and there's no place to discuss my issues.
I still can't find the online options for the game. I know it has online multiplayer, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it working. I bought this so my son could play it online with others. I guess you have to finish the career mode to unlock it?

Multiplayer is not available on the GOG Version. Only split screen is available from what I remember.

What? I don't see that anywhere on the game page... WTF would they cut out the multiplayer? I bet GOG won't give me a refund, either.

EDIT: I can see other people's times on the race results... You mean there's no way to actually play against them?! This is fucking stupid...

You can have a look here. The developer has replied to some people. https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_redout_solar_challenge_edition_72e22/?search=redout

If you look at the store page the tags on the right side don't mention multiplayer. Only single player and coop.
Also the reason you can see the other people's times is because this game has leaderboard support.

I read it first as Reddit forum.

To be fair, co-op is a type of multiplayer -- and the lack of the "multiplayer" tag is a mistake anyway, considering it does have local (split-screen) multiplayer.

Besides, I don't think cooperative racing is really a big thing in video games. ;)
The game just came out, prolly why no forum yet.

Runs Exceptionally well I must add!

It also doesn't mention that the multiplayer that's present in other versions of the game has been cut out because the dev sucks ass. I won't buy another of their games. if that's the case since apparently on Steam, the price of multiplayer support is double the price of the game and DLC (since to buy the game and DLC there it's double the price of the game here). They can fuck right off with that.
If I recall correctly the network multiplayer in the Steam version relies on Steam APIs, which is why it isn't in the GOG version. I think I saw a post from one of the devs somewhere here on GOG saying they were looking into how they might support network multiplayer without the Steam APIs and whether it would be feasible to add it to the game this long after release, which is not a trivial thing for an independent developer of a self-published game.

Read the release thread, dude. The devs have posted there.
Also, this is hardly the first game on GOG that's had the mutliplayer stripped out to be released here.
I do agree that they should have a prominent notice about its absence on the game page, though.

It's not in the release post, but some replies to it made later. It still sucks when that was part of the reason I bought the game. The dev said we get the full Redout experience at a discounted price, but without multiplayer that's not quite true. I'm just pissed I lost my money on something that's now worthless to me.

It definitely could have been handled better (by GOG, as well as the devs). But I still don't fault the developers for the decision to not go to all the trouble of porting the Steam-based multiplayer to Galaxy when they aren't sure if the game will even sell well enough here to pay for the time spent reworking it.

I'd still contact Support and see about a refund, even though you've already downloaded it. They've made plenty of exceptions to their general return policy in the past.
Still no Redout forum.

Can't hurt to try. Just write to support and tell them you bought the game under the assumption that it would contain the multiplayer option that it contains on other platforms. And then ask politely for a refund.

...yes, ask. Not demand.

...and yes, politely! They are usually quite accommodating, if you stay civil.
