I downloaded the game via GoGdownloader and don`t use Galaxy at all. Also, the game is Singleplayer.
So why is there a Galaxy.dll in the game directory? Is this a clue that Galaxy shall become the same as the Steam client? From optional to necessary to play games from GoG?

Why shouldn't there be? People may download the standalone installers to use with Galaxy, should the installers do contain all the files, to minimize additional downloading of files.
I think it's so Galaxy can recognise and import installed games. I'm sure there was a similar thread a while back that said as much.

Edit: Also, according to the game page, it features achievements. I presume that means ones that work with Galaxy, so it probably needs it for that.

Is it the Galaxy.dll or the goggame-########.info that gets recognized?
Edit: Considering neither The Cat Lady nor The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 have a galaxy.dll, yet Galaxy did pick them up using scan & import, it's not the dll file that gets recognized.

You can safely delete that.
So you mean, that it`s no backdoor to DRM?

Perhaps the DLL is for achievements?

Not sure.. I just seem to remember someone saying that one of the galaxy files in the offline installers was for galaxy to recognise the installs or something.

Looking at the game card I imagine in this case the .dll is actually for achievements.
The Galaxy.dll is present in all games that use Galaxy-specific features like multiplayer or achievements.

You don't need Galaxy to play this game.
If the dll file bothers you, you're free to remove it.
Apparently the file is there because of the achievements. A blue might give you more details, I haven't tested that yet, so I can't say for sure.
I doubt it is a sign of DRM coming to gOg.
If they do this, they will be annihilated by Steam, obliterated.
The battle would end before it even started.

Well, I`m currently talking with Judas about this in another thread. He also gave an interesting information about GoG games with the steam files in their directory: The files are needed or the game won`t start. Still waiting for some info about the Galaxy.dll.
Oh, and congrats for your fantastic football team! You are not in France? I heard, nearly all people from Iceland are in France now. :-)

Steam files?
You mean games which were Steam exclusive, but the devs decided to sell in gOg, too?
I fail to see how this is DRM, in any case.

I wouldn't know, I don't live in Iceland. :P

almabrds: Steam files?
Steam_api.dll most likely.

Oh.
I would not blame gOg for that, it's the devs' fault for sending them a version which was created for Steam.
I also think gOg isn't able to change the files how they see fit, otherwise they would erase all things related to Steam. Wouldn't be illegal for them to sell something different than what the game developers sent them?
Just ignore the file, you don't need to remove it.
It's not like it's wasting too much space in your machine, or causing harm, like a virus.

Interesting, so you know exactly what is in those dll's do then, and will provide a guarantee if they do contain anything malicious. See I can see why the OP Is cautious, these could contain any number of functions doing anything. Doesn't even need to be malicious, maybe one day, when galaxy becomes fully optional, it might trigger these dlls and update games you don't want to. Its not totally tin foil hat crazy to be cautious about things being installed that are supposedly not required for normal operation, or should we all have folders setup to hold steam, origin, Beth etc. Libraries just to be able run things?
